No resonator

Just out for curiosity, if you take off your resonator and just weld a pipe there, does it affect performance? I always see this 2.4L cobalt around town whose exhaust is extremely loud, and i met him at a gorcery store today and he told me he had his resonator taken off. So i was wondering does it effect performance? Is it better? Worse? Or doesnt change anything? I know the all the resonator does is just cancel out certain frequencys/pitches (dunno which one =/), so I'm guessing it doesnt effect performance, can anyone clarify for me?

mainly for sound.

if you cut the muffler off, but keep the resonator..its ungodly loud as it is.

The resonator is just a flow through, so it won't effect performance if you take it off......BUT it will make your car sound pretty ricey, in my opinion.

i have it,

its a bit to loud compared to some of the nicer exhausts. and u add a new DP to it or headers and it will sound like complete ****. The car really needs a resonator IMO

The Magnaflow system comes with a resonator and sounds great! It doesn't have any annoying buzzing like a non-resonator catback does.

actually, it will help performance due to the fact your removing the turbulence.

think of a resonator as a "bubble" in the middle of your exhaust.

God...I thought you would of learned a thing from hondas. Sound = Power
