Need help with exhaust
Hey guys,
I currently have a 3in straight pipe setup on my 09 Cobalt SS, catless dp, muffler and resonator delete.
I need to get a new exhaust system for various reasons, one with a catted dp and a muffler. No resonator.
I want one that would sound obviously quieter than a straight pipe, but havee a similar sound, NOT a raspy, fart-can like sound.
Any help would be appreciated with suggestions of brand.
Thanks

Yeah I wasn't planning on going with the turboxs because of that.
I'm looking at the zzp catted dp and catback because I heard it comes with a magnaflow muffler basically.

My current setup does not have a muffler and I need one. I wanted to just put a muffler on the current pipe but my mechanic told me I would need a new pipe. I'll have to ask him specifically why again.
So besides being quieter would not having a resonator make it sound worse?

You exhaust is prolly loud and raspy like a honda is. Get a stock or quality resonator and that will quiet it down and reduce the rasp. Both of turboxs louder exhaust systems only use resonators. The fl uses 2 and no muffler, and the rfl uses 1 and no muffler. You do not need a muffler but you at least need a resonator

I would personally go with a turbo XS there 2 resonator FL exhaust really sounds great and the next step down if a muffler less exhaust is too loud.
Friend of mine has a catted DP and a Hahn exhaust with muffler and NO resonator, sounds like CRAP! Trust me, get a resonator...Please
Nissan 350z is the only car ive ever heard sound good without one (and v8's of course) every other 4cyl sounds bad without one.
Look at a Neon SRT4 stock it has 2 resonators and no mufflers!
