New to the group.
Hows it going everybody? My name is Kevin, im 20. As the title says I am new to the group. Im a huge chevy fan having owned 5 (soon to be 6) all within the 4 years I have had my license. I have had a 1980 L82 Corvette for over 4yrs which Im almost done restoring. I bought a 2003 Avalanche Z71 back in August, it is fully loaded and absolutely a great truck. Unfortunately, like many others, gas prices have driven me to sell the Avalanche and find something a little more pump friendly. I have found a buyer for the truck, and just put a down payment on a brand new 2008 Imperial Blue Cobalt SS fully loaded. I cant wait to pick it up, I just have to finish selling the truck. So who else on here has an 08 SS. How do you like it so far? Im a mechanic, and from what Ive seen it seems Chevy has done an excellent job redesigning this car.
my review after having it for a week (over 600 miles on it)
Rolled over 500 miles since I got it last week and the WOT power is acceptable. The power even while cruising around is adaquate as well, still can tell the engine is making decent torque @ 2k rpms. Brakes have a lot of grab to them & the handling is great, it really inspires a lot of confidence when you are driving it.
The seats are fantastic for holding you in and are comfortable for me. (6' 190lb) Interior material quality is about what you can expect out of a car that costs $14k base. Plastic scratches/marks easily. Stereo is good for stock, little lacking on bass, but my last car had a square 12, little hard to compete with that stock. Outside appearance w/ the bright red is fantastic.
For the price (considering its a new car) I am completely satisfied.

Thanks for the greetings, and input. No, I dont have pictures yet, I should be picking it up Thursday this week. I cant wait to get it, although I will miss my Avalanche (but not the $135 price of filling it for a week!) Im a Chevy guy all the way. Heres a few pictures of my two current Chevys...Ill get some pics of the SS next to the Vette as soon as I pick her up.
