Lightbulb Question about HID Output (Help me??)

Hey guys, I had a quick question regarding these HID Halo headlights..

http://www.kbcarstuff.com/05_06_CHEV...lhpcob05tm.htm

I've had these headlamps for a couple months and I'm generally happy with them. I'm having some problem though with these lamps giving me adequete lighting (I'm comparing them to my father's Cadillac STS's HID headlamps). I've noticed though comparing the two that his headlamps seem to produce more light and makes it MUCH better to see (I can really only see things like the reflective road signs and markers). The question I'm ultimately trying to get to is.. is there a way to increase my light output? I know nothing really about cars (I didn't even know how to install these headlamps I had to hire someone haha). If you know of a way please let me know.. I'll spend whatever I need to see properly. Thanks.

EDIT: I have no idea if this would help you but I have a 2006 Chevrolet SS Sedan.. nothing has been modified but those headlamps.

What color temp of hids do you have? Also, I've heard those first generation projectors don't give as good light output as the 2nd or 3rd gen. ones do.

Hmm that's weird. Maybe you don't have them aimed properly? That's the 2nd best color temp to use for light output too. I have hids in mine(2nd gen. projectors) and the light output is great. But I'm pretty sure OEM projectors/hids like the ones on your dads car are going to be better. Remember nothing aftermarket is perfect.

I'd try fooling around with the aiming a bit more if I were you. If you haven't already.

One reason may be that those are not HID projectors. They are halogen projectors which means they are made for halogen bulbs not HIDs. Your fathers caddy has specific HID projectors so it is already a step ahead of yours. In order to get the best lighting possible your going to have to pay someone to make you a retro-fit set of headlights. I remember comming across a website that sold reto-fit headlights for cobalts but I can't remember the site name and I know the lights were $650+ which is a good price for what you get.

:-O they said they were meant for HIDs... I even had them install the bulbs and ballasts or w/e they're called. Could either of you recommend whatever I need to buy (Sounds easiest just to replace them again)? I'd prefer one that comes all set and ready (cost is not an issue). Thanks a lot.

Can't I just put a huge battery in and blow the headlamps up? LOL
