High rpm clutch pedal fade?

I'm having trouble with high RPM (6-7k) shifts, sometimes going up but more pronounced 4-3 after high sustained redline pass clutch will go soft with a mid point hard pedal and will be difficult to engage to 3rd during rev match, kinda like it's between gears. Once the rev's come back down I can double clutch and I'll again have pedal and it shifts smoothly. Fellow owner has had similar with 2-3 at high rpm.

I've bled the clutch several times increasing to Wilwood 570 fluid thinking fluid was getting hot after high speed road course abuse. Now it will happen after just about anytime above 6,500 rpm. No weird noises and shifts normally under 6,500r's. Using normal Saturn fluid.

Very disconcerting to fly into turn at 125 slam on the binders and expecting 4-3 downshift and can't grab third.

No luck with search, any known issues with the 5 speed doing this?

Thanks

hmmm, i had the same sort of thing the other day, i slammed 2nd gear at 7000rpm and let off the pedal and it was soft till about half pedal. despite this, i was able to grab 3rd and 4th no problem even with the pedal not being stiff at the top. the pedal did come back after a minute of driving. i had chalked it up to a fluke and leave it at that.

When the dealer replaced my faulty clutch at 5k, they found a leaking slave cylinder.

Wonder if there are problems with the stock slave unit?

I found the line to the slave just a bit loose which you could wiggle the line by hand. After some tricky manipulation through the inspection hole with a crows foot and a bit of good luck not to drop it in the bellhousing, it's now tight. Hoping that was it.. which would be consistent with a slave leak. It wasn't really "leaking" more like weeping. Probably when it required higher pressure, like at high rpm's or higher temp/hp loads.

Now I need to find a place to make some high rpm runs..

Thanks to all..

Thanks..

not to worry.. she's a track only car.. Last couple of weekends it's been too hot (108F) for open air car.. plus that kind of heat is murder on IAT2's.
