Quick Shift Plus Question

Hey guys..

Quick and probably simple question here.. I ordered a Shift Plus off a fellow member the other day. I’m eagarly anticipating it arriving. So I popped my hood and tried finding the set of wires to hook it into. I couldn’t find it. lol. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place, or maybe there’s something over it? Do you have to pull anything else out to gain access to it? Is it any easier (either wiring it in or pulling it through the firewall) from under the car? I’m trying to get this to go as smoothly as possible.. I also never really saw exactly how the thing hooked in. Is it a few wires you actually cut in half and wire the Shift Plus in-between the existing wires, or do you just cut the plastic casing a tad and actually just wrap the Shift Plus wires over the existing ones and not cut anything? I read the install page a few days ago and, to me, it wasn’t super totally clear if you weren’t looking at the item directly.. And supposedly I will have enough slack in the Shift Plus wiring to put it right into my center console. Is this true? I’d love to put it in the slot in the center of the dash in place of that passenger airbag warning thing. Anyone do this? Sorry about the n00b-ish questions.. I just like to make 100% sure. Remember: Measure twice, cut once.

Thanks!

its a tap connection, and not an intercept. your not cutting wires in half, just exposing them.

Ok. Got it in today. 2 urgent questions. VERY urgent.

1. It says Ford on the bottom. lol. Is this still the right one? I bought it from a fellow member who had it on his car, so I guess it's ok? lol.

2. Here's a picture of my engine bay. I looked all over for that silver box and the wires as mentioned in the install and I cannot freakin' find them. Maybe the fact that mine's an '06 2.4 and not an '05 2.2 changes a detail? Could anyone PLEASE tell me which one I use? Thanks!!

just go to search on top and type in b&m shift+ and you'll get pics and how to do it.

If you didn't read, I already did. For your first post, that's awfully bold. I said I looked at it and could not find the box. It's different for a 2.2 and a 2.4. Thanks.

It plugs into the tranny, you can't miss it, just feel around for it, it's gotta be there.

The thing is that I don't know what I'm looking for. lol. In your how-to it was so clear, but this doesn't have the same set-up.. Otherwise I wouldn't be posting. haha The other member said it was a certain set of wires in the picture, and it sounded like it was the one with the red one poking out..?

And is the fact that it says "Ford" ok? lol. It's the one he sent me and he had it in his car..?

Lets see the picture of this shift plus?

As for the how-to a few pages in it gets a bit more clear with some additional instructions.

The picture? It looks just like any other one, with a toggle switch box, 2 wires, and a smaller box. The smaller box just says Ford. Bt it looks identical to ours.. Maybe this is an older one and you had to get a Ford one to make it work..?
