daily driver mode

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

left the laptop at home. left everything in the car. drop the front tires down to 27 psi. left it all alone.

11.4-11.5 afr. like i said, daily driver mode. street boost control settings, which suck at the track btw.

first pass. launch off idle. 10 ft out, im floored. no wheel spin. hammer second. blows through the tires. whoops.

hot off the street

60 - 2.356
330 - 6.142
1/8 - 9.104
mph - 83.03
1000 - 11.647

1/4 - 13.772
mph - 107.25

eh. sure, why not.

second pass. let it cool for about 45 mins.

60 - 2.286
330 - 6.052
1/8 - 9.001
mph - 83.40
1000 - 11.533

1/4 13.650
mph - 107.77

meh. getting used to running the car again. launched at 1500. slipped the clutch. still doesn't do anything for the first 60ft.
still blows through the tires in second. now it is spinnin in third. ghaaaaaaaaaa

third pass of the night. let it cool about 10 mins with the ic pump runnin

blah

launched at 1250. apparently the car didn't like me anymore, or i just babied it too much out of the hole

60 - 2.312
330 - 6.091
1/8 - 9.028
mph - 83.52
1000 - 11.558
1/4 - 13.673
mph - 107.77

the final run of the night. aggressive clutch slip at 2k. still blew the tires off on second. rotated the tires in third. i also kept short shifting the car all night long for some stupid reason. dunno, got me.

60 - 2.240
330 - 5.962
1/8 - 8.889
mph - 83.83
1000 - 11.412

1/4 - 13.523
mph - 108.06

stock factory issue tires. stock axles. stock clutch. 11.5 afr 20 degree's of timing. -20 washer fluid. nothing fancy. i have picked up over 5 mph since i last ran over a year ago. not blinding fast i know. i need some real tires under this thing.

so for those who say i never run at the track. suck it. when i get called out by locals to run. i change the tune, so in short, is this all the car has? not even close. is this all the car has at 6:15pm on a tuesday night on i-70 east? yulp

Not bad man not bad.

What were the ambient temps?

When it was cold out my car was trapping 109 (108.72) the way my car sits now. I know the cold is what did that.

After we tuned it a bit and took 20% boost out of first I was pulling 2.2s all day. You will be much happier with better tires.

My best 1/8th mi to date is 8.92 with a 2.2008 60'. I believe that was right at 80 mph.

I'm glad you finally got it to the track, I was always curious how yours ran. Now get it in "race mode".

Damn are cobalts really that hard to launch at the track? That is a 12 second mph for sure. Get the 60 foot down into the 1.90 range.

they are when you have the nanny settings on the blower for street use, and have really no way of changing it.

Noob question, what is DA and how do you know what it is...

yeah 80° and humid does not help, at all. You get some sticky tires, put it in race mode, and get some cooler weather, you will see 12s. Period.

i bet with the more aggressive tune alone will get me close enough. dunno. we shall see. new cams going in shortly. i may run again in the fall when the da drops to the floor.

DA = density altitude. more or less an equivelance in elevation

You should man. Only thing I noticed, colder it gets, more powa, but less traction.. DUH. When its warm mine chirps 2nd and then just pulls. When it was cold i was spinning all the way down in 2nd, never spun in 3rd, but 2nd was bad. But the temp alone got me 4-5 mph.
