Ok guys! I have done some work for us, and this is what Ive done.

I have finished the draw up of the "BOOSSTD EGO" name. I have smoothed it out, cropped it and everything. I dropped it off at a sign shop that is going to scan it in on their computer, then finish the smoothing and lining and basically making it perfect. The cost to me is $35 for the art work, and then $20 for the 2 vinyl stickers. I made the prototype all black, so I will put it on my car and then take photos and post them. I will have the final drawing sent to my email about Wednesday of next week and will post it for all to see.

I also went to USA Motorsports to ask a few questions. Its a speed shop here in Arlington. I asked them about performance oil and what not, and got some Redline oil, and Water Wetter for the coolant, and Redline Full Fuel System Cleaner. It has made a hell of a difference. My engine temp has gone down to 165, consitently. I asked them about parts for our cars and everything. He basically said that our cars are so new that all the parts now are going to be R&D, and that buying them from small shops, is taking a big risk. He advised to wait for the big companies to put out parts. I also asked about Nitrous. I am hopefully going to buy a 50 shot bottle with purge kit next week.

I then went to The Drop Zone and ordered my Eibach springs. It will drop the car 1"1/2 in the rear and 1' in the front. JapEater has some, and they will look bad ass! Im also waiting on a big brake kit from Brembo. Chris, at Drop Zone, called over to Brembos office, and they confirmed that a big brake kit, stainless steel rotors, cross drilled, the big pads, will be out sometime this summer. Thats a good thing.

I talked to both shops about sponsorships. They both said "Yes." Im making the "BOOSSTD EGO" sticker for us. Basically, we are going to start a "North Texas Cobalt Owners Club." Myself, Mines_Better, and JapEater are in it from now. I talked to both shops and they both said that we need to present this to them when ready. If you are interested in being a part of this group, please let myself of JapEater know. Here is the benefits:

1. Have their names on our cars. Thats good on our part so as to get noticed.
2. For them to get their names out there on Cobalts, so more Cobalt owners will come to them for parts/questions/etc.
3. We will get a BIG discount on parts and labor. 20% from Drop Zone on parts and some of labor, and 15% off parts at USA Motorsports and some off labor.

If you are interested please reply to this thread. I will need to following from you when you want to be a part of our "car club."

1. 4 of your best photos of your Cobalts. If you want me to, I can do them with my digital camera.
2. A list of things you "wish" you could do to your Cobalt. What your goal is with the work you want to do on your car.
3. What you think you will be able to bring to the companies that will sponsor us. Like, what is in it for them?

Im going to put a "portfolio" or "scrap-book" together then present it to them, with a few Cobalt guys present. If they decide to sponsor us, we will all get stickers from them to put on our cars, cards with the discount on it, and event/car show dates for us to go to when we can. So basicly this is in the dallas area?
I live in Amarillo which is way north texas so it wouldn't benefit me any.

 

both shops are in arlington, but strength in numbers is what is needed right now
i would like to get some hookups on wheels, tuning, etc, but i dunno how the sticker thing is gonna fly unless they make us an offer worth it

the thing is i went thru this with jotech and intercrew in the last car club i was in and didnt get ****
so i want something solid on our end before we gonna asking for scraps, i dunno, kinda want to establish us as a group before tackling the sponsers

but lets do something soon!

I am looking to open the shop within 2-3 months. I have accounts open at this time but not enough. The only companies available at this time are Tenzo,Weapon R, Fiber Images, Bomex, Razzi, Sound Systems(Subs, Amps, Stereos, DVDs, Screens, etc.) I have met some of you and I love Cobalts. I would take interest in the group for sponsorship. We might be looking at about 30% off in the first group order and about 20% after in all orders from the Texas Cobalts. As the time gets near I have many more companies in mind one of the first moves will be "Nitrous Xpress" among many others, so If we decide on sponsorship the discount will be effective on everything.

 

sounds good, i would like to go to a jbody run, ecotec specialty shop Jesus, but inventory is everything

Cool we'll talk more wne the time is near too. Also if you guys want to do Club T-shirts I have the hook up with a friend who is just starting the T-shirt business. So if you want to have your logo team shirts he can do em' for the club at about $7-8 each, printed front & back...Let me know! We are doing that in the J-body Club. We will have t-shirts for the show in May.
