need some help (tie rod)

in have an 07 SS/SC i have reason to believe that my passenger side tie rod is going (doing a little autocross and hit a pothole). There is no playing on the actual knuckle but at the inner boot at the center on the car (where the joint is so the rod can move up and down with the suspension). is there supposed to be any kind of play there? where can i got one? or should i just bring into the dealer? any help would be nice

There shouldn't be any play. I would see if warranty covers it. If not, you will probably want to check aftermarket for inner tie rod ends. I work at a GM body shop, and while I am not a parts expert, I have replaced two steering racks because GM does not sell inner tie rod ends. Quite expensive to go that route. If nothing is bent, I would think warranty will cover it though.
Good luck,
Dennis

i just replaced my outter tie rods. their shouldnt be any play. a test to see if your inner ones are bad is to remove your outer tie rods if you have done so and move your inner tie rod. the inner tie rod shouldnt move. i picked up the parts at the local parts store by me. here is a video to show you wat i am talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MkaagWF8ws
