Ok i have had my cobalt since february and i love the car. But i have had some problems with it. My electric steering went out, my abs is out now and my cat converter is shot. I wanted my cobalt to be a project car but im starting to have second thoughts. I have always wanted a dsm. since i was 14. AWD of course. Im sort of at a stump. Should i buy a 2000$ GSX and upgrade that. or Upgrade my Cobalt SS S/C? I still want to do a stage 2 upgrade cuz i want(need) my warrenty. but i originally wanted to go bigger.

 

DSM's are badass but they are an OLD car, i personally would love to work with one but personally wouldnt because of the age of the models, A TSI (talon) at latest model year is still 10 model years old... be lucky to find one with under 80k miles and in good shape i dunno a ton about cars but id rather work on something newer or wait til my car is at 100k then work, cause i know what its been through

 

I agree with you 100% but i have been working with my friend on his gsx he just got. we swapped a tranny in it and were rebuilding the motor and stroking it to a 2.3l now and i can honestly say i love these cars more then ever just working on them. My cobalts alright but finding stuff for a 10+ y o car is alot easier then for a new car. and i wont have to worry about stupid stuff like replacing the whole steering column cuz they decided to put electric steering in my cobalt. altho i get the whole ideah and i like it but it went out. everything just seems alot simpler and there for i think i have my mind made up. but it would be nice to have some opinions.
