Brake Squeals
Brake Squeals
I'm coming close to 1k miles on the car, and i'm really fighting to urge to bring it to the dealer and ask why the hell the brakes are squealing so damn bad.
Anyone else having a problem with the brembo's squealing early in life?
no, didn't search for it. jager owning me rigtn now.

You're not using them hard enough. When you brake, you should be doing it firmly (not jerking the car around, just don't be coasting with your foot on it). Brake dust can also build up on the rotor, creating a squeaking noise when you brake. Just go out on some back road, hit about 50mph, and put the stop pedal to the floor. Once or twice should break the dust up and stop the noise.

the pad composite is performance oriented and it will squeal.
Also, the pad's are chamfered/beveled on one side to help with the squealing.
I've already had mine out and inspected - pretty easy to pop them out/in.
The rim is tight on the suspension - not much room for inward expansion.
Great setup overall...

Perhaps, Mr. Dealer Man, you can suggest a brand (pad) that doesn't sound like i'm rolling around in an 80's molester van?
The only sound these brakes should make is a high-pitched, somewhat faint squeal during light braking. Performance brakes tend to get a glaze on them when they're not pushed hard. It's not going to hurt, but it can cause that noise. A few hard 60-20 stops will get rid of it temporarily if it gets too annoying. If you're getting a loud and / or grinding noise, get it checked out asap.
I know my R6 had squeaking issues. What I would do is get the bike up to about 120 or so and get on the brakes hard down to about 20 then repeat once or twice. The squeaking would stop for a week or two.

Inform the customer that this is a normal characteristic of the high performance brake system.
DO NOT repair or replace the rotors or brake pads.
Under certain weather or operating conditions, occasional brake squeal, squeak, or other noise may be heard with the above vehicle's performance braking system. The brake system is designed for superior fade resistance and consistent operation using high performance brake pads. Some brake noise and brake dust is considered normal and do not affect system performance.
DO NOT attempt to repair or replace any parts for this kind of noise concern. The squeal or squeak noise is not indicative of any concerns with the braking system. You may wish to give the customer a copy of this bulletin.
