FYI - decent MPG

Made a trip yeasterday to pick my daughter up. Reset the DIC before I left. West New Jersey, down 295, across 195, down to 37, over to Seaside, up to Ortley Beach. Back to 37, into Holiday City to visit mom. Reverse course back to home. Started with a half tank. Got 32.5 MPG. Not too shabby...

Forgot to check the miles driven. Probably around 140.

I had a similar trip with very similar results. I like the capabilities of our 2.4's. They are quite a decent motor.

Question is, how fast were you going?

I don't know what the hell I did... but from Dayton, OH to my house on day, I drove 65 the whole way and averaged 40.1 mpg. In an SS/SC as well; it was a relatively flat trip. I did a hilly trip this past weekend and did 65 and got 35mpg.

Its good stuff.

3/4 of the trip was interstate, 70 mph. the rest was local roads, 25 to 30 mph.

I get about 40 mpg on flat highways and about 33-36 mpg on hilly roads, however if I switch into I gear I'll get 37-39 mpg on hilly highways.

/shoo all you LS guys. 32.5 mpg isn't all that great for a 2.4L. I've gotten 36 mpg across a 200 mile trip on a calm, cool day going between 65 and 75 mph. (2.4L Auto Sedan, stock)

Actually, 32.5 MPG is all that great, especially if you pull that off quite often. Gas prices aren't a measley little $2.50/Gallon anymore. 36 MPG isn't all that special either, any stock 2.4L can do taht, it all dpeends on your driving habits and conditions. The SC cars are getting better mileage then the NA cars. I'd like to drop a SC into my car just to see if it improves the mileage of the 2.4's at all.

I have a different engine but I went to Maryland from Virginia (258 miles 1-way) and I got 39.4mpg with an average speed of 67 mph (I reset the fuel economy and avg speed right when I left my house). I think my mods are in my vb garage.

Took a 300 mile trip this past weekend got 34.4mpg on the way there and 32.3 the way back with bad weather. Love it so much more than 16 tops in my previous vehicle lol.
