17" Winter steelies for SS/TC?
I've been meaning to buy winter wheels and tires since before last winter (lol) but just couldn't find anything cheap enough at the time. Today I found these: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/ale-x-42753
Or these: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/ale-7077589
Would they work? Because the price is much better than buying real wheels.
Also, what are the cheapest decent winter tires people are running? I'm clueless when it comes to winter tires lol.
Edit: I'm a ******* and just remembered that there is a wheel and tire section. Sorry :/

No, there are no steelies that fit over that brakes as far as I know, I tries 17 and 18 inch, just don't work. those look different but don't buy them unless u can try them first. ull have to few aluminum rims like the rest of us lol, there are nice looking cheap ones out there, who said u had to look ugly in winter.

If you can find a cheap set, the 17 inch Cobalt SS NA/Cobalt Sport or Pontiac G5 GT wheels are a good option. The G5 wheels do require a 3mm spacer to clear the front Brembo calipers (no need for longer studs), I think some members have posted on here that the Cobalt wheels just barely clear without a spacer.

Some years of 17" ss NA of sport will just clear.some won't. I think it depends who manufactured them. They will all clear with a 5mm spacer as will the 18" ss rim. I would recommend getting a 17" taller side wall. The 18" winters are more expensive too..
Cheapest route to go is earlier years ss rims. Spacers if necessary (make sure you use hubcentric spacers.)
17" steal ones don't fit 100% is the shape of the caliper space in the rim. Very tight spacers don't help.

Went through that nightmare when I bought my car in 08 and absolutely no information was avalable. I ended up using my stock rims and buying tires which I did not want to do at all.
Year two I bought ss sc rims and throw those tires on them. I didn't what to go with 18" bit with no known compatible rims list was avalable and there was no way I was using 2500$ stock rims.
I beleive there is a list of compatible rims on a thread here.

I have run the 17" SS/NA rims on my Ss\tc. And they work just fine without any spacers. But they are awfully close. Like paper thin kinda thing close. Lol....

Yeah my 18s were like thickness of a dime between the brembos with 5mm spacers.
As I said some will clear but there are a few that haven't for some reason. G5 gt 17" rims also clear I believe.
I think later years the 17" "ss" rims were manufacture in Mexico and they do t haVe the same clearance as the 06-07 ones.
