I have heard clips of similar sized engines as ours with various flowmasters, and I think they sound better than any of the highflow type mufflers. Exhaustclips.com I believe the site is. There are a few good sounding ones on there. The clips are of fords and hondas though. There are no GM ones with flowmasters. I would describe it as sounding kind of like a really really deep chain saw, very agressive. But, not flabby or overly bassy. Also, most people would want to go with the 40 series because they are louder, but as you probably know, the 60 is made for 4 cylinders, and I think it will help keep it from sounding buzzy. I plan on getting the 60 series sometime before the summer. If I do, I will let you know what I think. I have no way of making sound clips though, sorry. One thing to point out is, a flowmaster will not flow as much air as a strait through muffler. But, that is not the point of them really. They are made to sound the best possible.

I was just wondering if you decided to get the flowmaster yet. I do not have the money right now; I have to save for insurance. So, it will be awhile before I can get one on my car.

Flowmasters are by no means a highflow type muffler.

Flowmaster, IMCO, Spintech & Edlebrock SDT are all chambered style mufflers. On a scale of flow they are right above a restrictive OE muffler.

Yes, and the 60 series is 2 1/4" in and out. You could possibly lose power with this muffler.

The stock muffler is 2.25 in and out though too, right? So, I would think it would flow at least just a bit more. I also have a 2.4, so I do not need as much flow.

I'm not sure what the 2.4 SS has. The SS/SC is mostly 2.5" with some 2.25". Honestly if I were in your position I wouldn't bother. I doubt that the gains in sound or power will be anywhere near worth it. Get a 2.5" muff and have any 2.25" piping replaced with 2.5" at the local muff shop.

he is right, they are the same. 2.50 off the headers, all the way to the muffler, then it drops to 2.25. so just get a meffler with a 2.50 inlet, and it will work just fine.

Well, i think it would sound better and be louder than stock, and I do not want to replace the pipes if I do not have to. I can not really afford to do any of this now anyway. So, is the stock inlet pipe 2.25 at the muffler? Because if it is, the muffler slides right into place and the car sounds better. I am not worried about getting 1 hp with one muffler or 3 hp with another muffler. Thanks for any input.
