tunning
tunning
hello wondering if there is anyone in maritimes that tunes ecotech motor's. i know jd racing does tunning and dyno but i don't know how much experience he has with ecotech motors. any help would be great
Quicksilver can tune. Nobody around here really has much experience with it at all. best to buy the program and learn lol. If we could get like 3 people in on it we could buy the program and tune the cars.
As Zekdemos said we have hp tuners, Danny @ JD is the only other one as far as I know. If you dont have a wideband its very difficult to dial a tune in becuase when you make changes, you need to see what the fuel is doing. If you dont have a wideband than I say go to JD as he has a exhaust sniffer he can dial a tune in with on the dyno.
600. but he will be able to recover the cost if he does say 10 tunes thats 4k which more then pays for it. so a good buy for him. onvce he lerns it good he will have a lot of bussiness i would say. ecotec is becoming popular in this area.
Danny is an excellent tuner! However he just recently got the tuning program and hasnt really had a chance to learn it yet. Once he uses it on a few cars he will be the guy to see!! I can make some changes to the stage 2 tune, but again a wideband is needed. The credits alone just to access the ecu is over $100.
Plaxton, are you looking to tweak the stage 2 tune or go to 60lb injectors? If you go with the 60's I have a base tune that I flashed Chad463 with that seems to work a bit better than the stage 2 tune (alot of the tune is same as stage 2 except timing, a/f ratio, and injector flow rate) so it would still be safe and reliable.
Danny will charge you $400 for the day for the tuning only, than the credits from HP Tuners are extra, make sure you bring a minimum of $500-550.
Either way Danny @ JD Racing is a good guy and is always willing to give good deals, definatly knows his ****, just needs some time playing with HP Tuners.
Pm me with some Q's

he is deff the guy to see but as said he didnt have time to play with a cobalt yet. If he gets someone to let him play with it for awhile he will be able to do tons of things. I am still thinking of buying it and just learn it all. I would like to talk to the guy who tunned the turbo cavy up here.
was just talking with james from raven autosports. hes the guy with the turbo cavi. very good prices.
150 to licence the car with hptuners
25 and hour after that.
seems like a fair deal. if your interested you can go to lowmotion.org and look up a guy called raven and thats him. let him know you would like a tune and what mods you have and you can work something out with him
