Lowered SS work w/ wide tires?

So I am close to buying a set of lowering springs but i have been reading on all the sites so i could see if there are any problems. I have 8" wide rims with a offset of 40, and in the near future i want to get some 235 on them. Does anyone have the drop with near the same set up? I don't want to get them if they will not work. From what i can tell the outside of the wheel will still fit with no rubbing but i don't know about the inside.

I've got 215/50/17's on my SS and they rub...
The rim is a 17x8 with +40mm backspacing.

It could be because of the agressive winter tread that they rub, but I haven't had a chance to look under the car and see what rubs and where.

How often does it rub? Would you be able to take a look and see where its happening at?

It rubs about half way to lock when that corner is unsprung slightly. I'll try to take a look tomorrow when I go out to the car... It's pretty tight under there so it's hard to tell.

right now i have the stock tire on a 18" X 8" rim with an offset of 40. The biggest i can fit without doing anything is a 235 due to the tire being very close to the strut.

Update, no rubbing at all while turning or driving and it looks really good. As i was lowering the car i thought something was broken because it just continued to get lower
