I think there was another thread on this. But It usually helps drying in the shade so the water doesnt dry up as fast. thats what I do anyways and never have any waterspots.

This might sound crazy but there is this stuff thats a glass stove top cleaner in the cleaning supply section at wal-mart.. its is safe on auto paint, glass, and chrome.. i used it one time to clean off a redish iron deposit spot on my custom painted truck..
you may want to give it a try..

I have 2 black cars and have had many black cars and I never get swirl marks.

You wipe front to back always. Never swirl marks from waxing or washing and drying.

Never wash in the sun! I usually wash in the morning before the sun comes over my house or I wash at night. If the sun is up I wash in the garage.

Also if you see water spots while drying or after wipe them with a damp cloth or meguiars quick detail or it will etch into your paint.

My Z06 I've used quick detail after almost every wash and I tried to clay it after about 10,000 miles of driving and the clay bar didn't take one thing off the paint.

as far as the water marks go can you try and get a picture of them? It sounds like when they etched your car they might have done a terrible job and etched a part of your window.. is it by the lower corners of the door windows or where is it? I can promise you thats what it is if its near where they are supposed to etch... I used to detail cars and this happened..

If this is not what it is.. look into getting plastic scratch remover and use that when you clean your window... believe it or not it works. So see if you can get a picture of it for me and ill tell you what it is...

mr clean will work on that but I would recommend two washes before using the spot free rinse if there is just the slightest spot missed that you didn't wash right it will show up when you let it dry.

it It is NOT meant for paint. It's meant for OVENS. I wouldn't be too willing to try even if it is "safe"

I had no problems with it.. I used it to remove a iron deposit spot on the paint of my truck that has a 4K paint job.. but it would probably be best that you didnt use it on your 2000 impala LS..
