Angry dealership mess up on fuel filter

i just got bac from the chevy dealership and in went to get a new fuel filter for my 2.2L Cobalt and notice the item number was different from the one at CED but i thought maybe its a new number or somethin so while i'm drivin home it still the number doesn't seem right so i just went to CED and typed in the item num and its for the 2.0L how do u screw that up when u work at a dealership i could see if it was a car parts store or somethin. so now i hav to go bac there 2moro to exchange it but i was wondering wat the different in the 2.0L and 2.2L fuel filter is b/c they look the same?

I don't remember exactly, but I think there is a regulator (for fuel pressure I think) internal to the fuel filter.

Why did you need a new fuel filter?

Just checked in the system, '05 2.0 & 2.2l use the same part#. '06 &'07 2.2l use a different #. Seeing you're an '05, you're ok.

I am a GM Tech and after seeing your thread I checked with my parts department, the parts catalog reads as I stated. You could go back to you dealers parts depo. and ask them for verification to ease your mine.

I see CED does not specify the change for years 06 and 07. But, they are interchangeable, IOW, they will work. The GM catalog calls for the same # for 05 2.2 or 2.0.
