Just Lemon lawed my cobalt ss

Hey guys just wanted to let you all know that I have been having a problem with my cobalt that I have read others of you have. Three times now within a month of each time ny passenger side door begins to hit or rub my front quarter panel when opening and closing and has caused paint to be chipped off. The dealer who was very honest to me about the problem said that it is actually the frame twisting during hard cornering or when I hit a big bump and causes the panels to shift. The Service manager also told me that there was not much they could do about it but keep fixing it and the problem was actually from the factory not something they were doing. So after the third repair I contacted a lemon law lawyer which is what my dealer has suggested me to do. The lawyer is now in the process of getting me a new car. The catch is it must be a chevy and it has to be a similar value of my cobalt, but my loan does not change same payment for the same duration like I was still paying for my old car but got a new one in its place. I have chosen a ss of a different color and the g85 performace package with onstar which my first ss didnt have. They will be swaping the cars no questions asked as soon as the new one comes in. So just a little info for you guys having reaccurring problems with your cobalts, we the buyers do have a leg to stand on against the factory.

jeez, at 21,000 miles, all mine has done was a hiccup with the radio. That gets replaced on Wednesday. They even gave me the MP3 player in place of the base CD player.

Maybe you guys got some of the early SS coupes?

I can't believe they couldn't fix that. Both mine and my wifes SS had the same problem on the drivers side right when we bought them, mostly when the temp dropped below freezing. The dealer just readjusted the door/fender gap and it's been fine since.

They replaced your car after 3 attempts ?!?!?!? Are you for real ? This the first Ive heard of door rubbing issues , have yet to see anything like that in my SS .

Cool your getting a new car , though I cant understand why this problem could not have been fixed . The early run Cobalt coupes had a problem with front fender alignment , its part of the reason the coupes kept getting delayed , but I know absolutely nothing about frame issues .

I did a Lemon Law Claim on my 04 Dodge Grand Caraven. Thing is a POS. I hope for your sake it does not take as long as my is. I am almost going on 1 year with this. I am and starting to get very pissed. The only good thing about it, Chrysler is actually buying back my van, they are not replacing it, just giving me back my money and sending me on my way to buy something else.

I've had a lot of problems with mine. The doors rub the roof and the paint has been worn off because of it. They don't hit when it shuts so, I guess it has to happen while driving. They had it for 3 days trying to adjust the passanger door. The body man told me that he didn't know what was wrong with it, but that was the best he could do.
Also the E brake light keeps flashing while driving. Not all the time but maybe once a month it will flash about 5 or 6 times while driving down the road. Then a couple of times there has been a flash come from behind the speedo, like something is shorting out. Then this past wensday as I was bringing my wife home from the hospital in lexington, the heater stuck wide open. It was blowing through the vents and I couldn't get it to turn down into the floor board. I tried to turn on the AC and that wouldn't work. Nor would the defrost. I tried the thermostat from hot to cold and it just kept blowing wide open on hot. So we had ride down 64 with the heat cranking and the sunroof open. I stopped to get gas and when I restarted the car everthing started working again.
Also when I go up hill the car doesn't want to down shift. It will just keep dropping RPM but won't down shift. You have to gas it like you are going to pass someone to get it to down shift.
Last but not least, when you blow the horn it sounds like it draging. Does it worse on cold days.
I have had it to the shop several times and all they say is that they can't get it to replecate the problem. So today I called GM and filed a formal complaint. So hear we go again, they want me to bring it in next Thursday the 23. I'm getting so feed up with this. I hate the day I ever bought this thing. I have been so frustrated that I finaly lost it the other day on one of its episodes, and punched the stearing wheel. Stupid me all that done was bent the chevy emblem in the middle. Now I have to figure out how to try to fix that.
All I got to say is way to build them GM All this and just 10,000 miles on it.

Ive bought all my vehicles through bennet in egg harbor twp. that is who I have all my service as well. I know kerbeck does better work but I like the small fee about bennett. Anyway you guys that said yours were hitting too but not anymore, have you hit a large bumbs lately? All three times my car got messed up was from driving down this road where they are doing constuction and I forget about this one last big bumb at the very end which is like hitting a speed bump at 35. After that my door starts to hit the fender again. Now I know large bump arent the best thing for a car but I shouldnt have to go out of my way just because the car was not made well.
