balt vs impalla ss

Kid with as far as i know stock impalla SS wants to race tonight against my 06 cobalt stage 2. Im guessing if he thinks his impalla is fast it must be a 2007 or newer. You guys think i'll have any issues with this guy? Besides the rain

I don't know anything about those impalla's, so all I can say is give it a try. Vids will be required tho.

I still havnt found the sweet point for shifting wth the stage 2 so anypointers would be cool. as far as what rpm. must be higher then stock since the raised the rev limiter for a reason right?

the 2007 impala ss's have the 303hp v8 so it will probally be quite close.

They've got a v8, 303 at the crank, no slouch. Weight's a bit on the high side though.

I'm seeing 1/4 times for an 07 impala ss at 14.3 in the 1/4.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't miss a gear, get it on video!

is it for sure an 07+??? if not, it likley has the 3.8l s/c in it, 240 or 260hp depending on year. they can be made quick easily, but they run mid 15s stock. they are a 3800lb car

You should never race anyone driving an auto or auto/man...because that's not a driver's race and hence no glory.

Having said that...rip him a new ******* and do it for a case of beer or his girlfriend for the night and call it a day.

I test drove a newer Impala SS a few months ago. It felt like about a mid 14 second car to me.......not overly fast, but not slow either.

You can beat him stock for stock if you can drive. My dad has a 2007 Impala SS and we were dead even (I had maybe a fender on him). And with all my mods on my car (stage 2+, see sig), it's not really even close. You'll have no problem. If they were RWD and didn't way so damn much, they'd be a lot quicker.
