Interior Neon Tube Sizes

It may be a tad ricey but for a side project I'd like to wire up some neon/LED lighting inside my balt. i was wondering, for those who have already done this, what size tubes did you use for the footwells/under the seats?

did you wire them through the battery or the cig lighter? and where did you mount your switches?

thanks for the help

Tubes under the seats are just asking for trouble. I had them for about a year, and easy went thought about 6 due to people kicking them. Also the set up I used, the tube kept coming lose from the power source whenever I moves my seats around too much.

I recommend getting these - http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips I have two of the 9.5" under each seat, and they are crazy bright. I'm debating cutting them a bit shorter, since they are just sooo bright. You could probably easy get by using the 4.7" for everything.

I have everything wired up to be on a plug that goes in the cig lighter. Think like a car cell phone charger. I didn't really want to hard wire anything, so that works fine.

I have the switch "mounted" in that little cubby where the trunk pop it. It's just kinda zip-tied in there, but it works fine and you never see it anyways.

Yeah...you should do led strips...less chance of trouble. Oh and...I don't think they can be running when you're driving but I may be wrong (maybe just on the outside).

I recommend just getting a pilot controller (25 bucks from autozone)basically a fused box controller that accomodates 4 draws and has a small controller you can mount pretty much anywhere. Kind of a crappy brand but I assume it works.

9 inch street glow led strips above foot wells ( under steering column/glove box)
very flat and adhesive is awesome ,have not moved since installed...
small led lights in vents on either side of center console...in the foot well area...
1 led in cup holder...all are green...

"add a fuse "...hard wired into fuse box..easy as hell to do...grounded to radio...
all controlled by a single toggle switch
