New this would happen...

Edit: I knew this would happen too....not just 'new'

So, I've been diggin' the powershifting....excuse me....the no-lift shift feature since I've broken in the 'balt. Well, it's officially become habit now. I realized this when I raced some kid on the highway tonight in my Camaro. The 3>4 shift came up and the next thing I know, bam! I hit 4th like a pro. So, thanks GM for giving me something to learn and practice powershifting on before I stepped it up to the 550hp car.

In the limited time I've had to drive mine around (TS Fay is right offshore), it seems like the ECM won't slap the throttle shut under moderate to high PTB conditions. In other words -- you're in PTB and lift throttle....it takes a second for the motor to come unwound. I'm figuring -- might as well just do the "no-lift" anytime boost is involved since the throttle-by-wire system isn't going to lift throttle anyway.

I think the idea is not to reduce throttle via the ETC motor, but to cut timing for a couple tenths of a second. I don't know at what RPM's the NLS is active. It may not be on below a certain RPM though.

I guess what I'm hoping for is....maybe one of the PCM gurus are watching one of these threads and they'll chime in and say, "NLS can be activated between X,xxx RPM and X,xxx RPM based on the "xxxxx" table in the PCM."

All this talk of no-lift shifting is going to make all of us getting '09s real sad as we patiently break them in...
