some more dealership Bs

Well today I took my malibu into the dealership, becuse since day one my stereo, when turning or even at hard acceleration or braking, would cutout from cd to radio and soemtimes say no disc errors on brand new from the store cd's, the damn thing gets over 100° f. It stopped doing it for a while then strts and whatnot, well last week it did it every day. when I get into the dealership they can't reporoduce what i did. they then went ahead to say all my neons/ l.e.d's and my system have voided the warranty on the stereo anyway. I told her right off the bat it did it since day one, how the heck oculd anything I did to the car do it if I didn'teven have the car the first day and didn't even have a system or lights till after the first year I had the car? so now I have to buy a new stereo, not from the dealer of course, and do this all myself becuase they think jsut becuase someone who knows what he is doing with wiring and lights and a system decides to put this in his car. I have officially given up on going to the dealer for anything, and if I had it my way they'd never see my money again. How does a problem that occured since day one not covered if certain after market components were added after the issue?

Well...they're right if you were using power from the radio to run your lights. Sorry. That's a funny problem though; I'd assume it's a problem with one of the harnesses from the radio if it happens during braking.

I may not be a genious but I'd never use my stereo to power my lgihts. ha ha. I have that all on it's own fused line. none of the wiring I did eeven cuts into any existing wires.

Well, not many of us on here are g-e-n-i-o-u-s's.( Your spelling is worst than mine, had to point that out, sorry). To your problem, I have replaced many radio units for issues as you described. As long as you are not tapped into any power, ground or communication lines of the radio, your problem is most likely internal of the unit and should be warrantied. I am yet to see an issue with '07s yet, but time will tell.

Well that's a switched line that is commonly used for gauges, I'd assume the same for lighting.

ah gotcha. I guess it's really no big deal I didn't walk in there expecting a new car because my stereo didn't work, I just tohught they'd do somethin. that's what you get for assuming. ha ha. They said my electrical warranty was voided too with the lights but I have a feeling that's not true as they would have to prove my wiring was the cause of the failure. and I knwo they wouldn't be eable to because my wiring wouldn't do that. ha ha.
