Talking I got my Balt! New girl is now a Cobalt 2LT owner in CO

I got my Balt, finally! After about 2 months of research and test driving, and almost buying a gold LT1 but getting skeptical as the fuel economy monitor showed it only getting 25.7 MPG while I was test driving it, I welcomed yesterday my new baby, a Cobalt 2LT with the performance appearance package. Here's the kicker-- you will not BELIEVE the deal I got.

MSRP for this baby is around 18,900, or 17,600 with the employee pricing right now. My new Balt has 5,250 miles on it and I got it for 10,400 out the door including everything but of course registration and plates which I have to go to the courthouse for. Not a damn thing wrong with it except it is throwing a tire pressure warning despite the tire pressure being in the acceptable range - I think maybe there is something in one of the tires or something, so it's going to see the dealership people Tuesday to shut the monitor up. I bought it from a guy who is a one-man dealership. It's a GMAC repossession, but seems to have been taken care of really well by whoever had it. Saw it and drove it Friday night, was instantly in love, took it home yesterday afternoon.

Here's the new car, which still lacks a name, as I haven't driven it very much yet-- still not done scotch guarding, armoralling, and waxing it. Pics are from right when it came home, before I did anything to it, but honestly it's so nice already I doubt any of that stuff will change its looks-- it's more just to protect it from the elements/dogs/dirty shoes/etc.

Oh, and the oil in my driveway is from the Focus blowing its head gasket. Anyone know how to get oil off a driveway?

You can tell it's an LT2 (aka 2LT/LTZ) by the aluminum wheels. The guy who sold it to me didn't know it was an LT2. Score one for research!

I know you can see my temp plate-- can't be bothered to blur, as I don't really care, and am getting the real one soon, which will be purple.

Preeetty special LT2 performance appearance package front fascia with halogen headlights...

This steering wheel has many more buttons than I am used to. I know what about half of them do so far.

Look at my white faced gauges! Look at them I say!

Chrome exhaust tip is purdy (and is now even more shiny, as I took some polishy stuff from the auto store to it).

I'll take some more pics when I get it all prettied up even more than it is already. But... here's the problem, now I love this car already and I have been bitten by the customization bug due to looking at too many threads here! I want to tint the windows nice and dark and get some even prettier headlights, maybe debadge it...

Thanks, guys. It's slate metallic. I'll get my SO to take some pics of me with the car sometime, but for now here's me wearing way too much makeup (about to go to a concert when this was taken):

Nice pick up! Here's your Steering Wheel Guide:

Far left button - Cruise Control power
Left row from top to bottom:
Don't know about Res but it increases speed after enabling Cruise Control when you hold
Sets Cruise control and will decrease speed when held
Info button scrolls through info center
Reset info on your info center (which ever is currently up) when held

Right row from top to bottom:
volume up
volume down
scroll channels or songs up
scroll down

Far right button - Audio Mute

Hope I was able to help ya.

Thanks Slam-- I get asked if I'm wearing color contacts a lot if I'm wearing makeup, it's kinda annoying. My eyes are usually greenish, but they go that bright blue if I have eye makeup on (rare). It's odd.

Thanks also Shibito. That helps. I do have all the manuals, so I'll read through them. My old car HAS cruise control but I never use it, I guess I better learn on this one.

Sport08-- Right on! I love the color too. Though, I think it might look a little better with gunmetal gray window tint and some blueish headlights...

Jimmy-- I'll take it into consideration

Apcsox-- Well the reflection is a little distorted, but I do kinda have the Kim Kardashian build, though not as extreme. Makes it hard to find jeans.

Sizzle-- Wouldn't that **** off the SS/SC guys though?

Just as he said but "Res" stands for resume. As in if you're going down the highway or something with the cruise set and have to slow down for some reason or another, just push the "res" and it will take you back to the speed your cruise was set at. Also, congrats on the car.

PLEASE DON'T USE ARMORALL!! It'll end up cracking your dash, because it dries it out. You're better off to use soap and water, or find a product called Renew. It's milky white and smells quite sweet. I work at a one man GMAC leaseback dealer, detailing all the vehicles that come in. Technically, it's a two man, one woman dealer, but it's all the same.

Sweet, and congradulations. Glad to see your happy with it!

I was thinking about selling mine (mainly due to mileage) but after a thorough claybar/wax session and HP Tuning I have new found love for it.

Chad-- really? No armor all? I have heard nothing but good things about it until now. I didn't see anything called renew, but will that protect the dash and repel dirt and dust? It's nice now, it doesn't need restoring since the car is basically brand new, I just want to protect it.

elecblue06-- The Faint, July 28th at the Ogden in Denver. It rocked, but the openers sucked *****. If you see them, don't show up on time, you will want to commit hara kiri if you have to listen to their opening bands... but the faint are good enough it was worth it.

WhiteSSBalt-- I can't imagine driving anything else right now. Maybe my love for the new car will fade with time but I doubt it.

Zilla-- I wanted blue but I'm starting to like it even better than blue.

Sizzle and 07HHR-- Hah, I'll think about it then. I think tint is step one, though.
