Who has the GMPP Extrude Honed Header?
Who has the GMPP Extrude Honed Header?
I did a search and didt really find if anybody had gains with this, I see a few people have them. I have a few questions.
This is under warranty, correct? (being GM wouldnt even notice it looking diff)
Would this effect the A/F ratio?
How much of a gain?
and finally, who here has it? any pics? anything, any info
Im considering buying this, but i dont think it should throw a CEL because its flowing more air right?
I am not going to buy a header, and never even really thought about exhaust work, and I wont, id like to keep that stock, so will this effect the note of the exhaust? more baffle under de-acceleration or what?

Visually there are no differences at all on the "OUTSIDE" . It actually is the same manifold as stock , right down to the same part # cast on the outside . The only diff , is the GMPP manifold has been extrude honed for greater flow .
So no , on the car ....youd never know a diff from stock . And the little it was opened up by extrude honing , I couldnt not see it changing the sound a bit .

I can hear you saying, "Doc, how can you do that, those GM guys are good at spotting things." Well, this is how I know, the GMPP extruded/honed manifold has the stock number on the casing and it looks the same because it is, its just been honed and extruded on the inside. They will never know by looking at it will its on the car. As a matter of fact, most won't be able to tell with it off. There will be carbon build up and it will be impossible to tell.
The gains - yes there are gains made in the mid-upper range. I could tell right off after it was installed. It hasn't thrown a CEL and I doubt it will. The one thing I did notice is my tach doesn't drop with the rpms I can hear. I don't know if the 2 are related, either way, its going to the dealer to get it fixed. I'll get it dyno'd in a few days.
here are some pics http://photobucket.com/albums/c342/Doc_SS/manifold/ just so you can see.
oh, btw, check out every site for this product. I know of 3 plus the dealer who carry it. All have different prices.
