Left turn signal out again...

To make a long story short my FRONT LEFT turn signal doesnt work. Back blings really fast. Right side front and back are fine.

Its not the bulb. I replaced it with a brand new one and still have an issue. Can a fuse cause this issue? if so where is the fuse for the turn signal's loccated? I did install the Halo HID kit, but Ive had it in for months, and this problem only recently occured. I checked the connections/wires near the bulb (behind the headlight housing) and nothing seems out of place, and I made sure everything was secure. Problem still there.

Any suggestions?

P.S. My dealer is filled with d**k heads so I dont want to take it to them hence they charge me 80 bucks to fix it because of the HID's...

The HID's work fine, and they dont really touch anything dealing with the turn signal...

First' go to a different dealer. Second, If possible reinstall original headlight bulbs,( just so they don't complain). The problem is in the socket. You can fix it yourself if you would like. The dealer should install a new socket and add dielectric grease to the contacts. If you what to try it, I don't know if it will be permenent or not, but remove the bulb and slightly bend the little tabs inside the socket inwards with a small screwdriver, (unplug it first so you doen't short any thing out). Then add dielectic grease to the socket and a new bulb. I have done this to some cars without repeated failer.

The funny thing is the parking light and turn signal are the same bulb. the parking light works. it comes on and stays on (this is the same bulb as the turn signal) however the second filiment in the bulb for the fllash wont work. If the socket was the problem I would think both the parking light filiment and the flash filiment would not work, but one does the other doesnt....

I had that happen with my LS, but it was the right turn signal..I took it to my dealer and had it fixed in about half an hour. They said all they did was replace the bulb, I'm not sure though, since you already changed yours..

IM hoping it will get a little warmer out so I can take a look at it myself first, without freezing my ass off.

Does anyone know if/how you can take your car to lets say a Saturn dealership which isnt the dealership you bought your car from? they seem to be less busy, and have been really kool with my brother and his car which is even more modified then mine.

You will notice there are 4 contacts, 2 power and 2 grounds. 1 set for each filiment. If you look on your old bulb, (you through it out didn't you?), at the exposed wire on the bottom that would touch the contacts, you will see that it it burnt.

Yeah man, theres two different filiments in the bulb thats why one works and the other doesn't. If you take the bulb out and bend the contacts closer to the bulb your problem should go away. It's happening because the bulb is rattling inside the socket. Just take a small pick, and bend those contacts in, and your problem should go away. A little dielectric grease never hurt either

Awesome info that sounds good guys.

(I did keep the old bulb since it didnt work and the new one didnt work I figured it still may be good and saved it)

I will look at it. That sounds right too since there are times when like I hit a bump it seems to work for a few seconds and then stops again. Hell I had the problem weeks ago and it went away but came back so it sounds like I hit a bump or burn the contacts and thats why its back again. Ill look at this tomorrow I think its suppose to be warm

I have installed the Halo black headlights, the left headlight turn signal has blown out 3 times in the past month or so. I am an electrician and have made sure everything was good in the wiring. The bulb usually blows out while the car isnt driving. Last night my signal was working. Parked the car. Woke up today, and the turn signal is blown. This has been the scenario the past 2 times also. The bulb looks smoked and the glass is cracked near the base and the filiments are fried. Anyone have any ideas? Im stumped!

Nah sorry man, thats a difficult one. It sounds like you covered all teh bases. You may want to convert back to default and take it in to your dealer and make them fix it then go back to HID's

I got the same problem. Three bulbs in about two month. Took it to the dealer to replace it but it stops working in a while. I know it's not the bulb, the right turn signal still works from manufacture. Just don't know what might cause the left one burned out...???

Mine burnt out about 2 monhts ago, again. I was running clear bulbs in my projectors, so I decided to buy amber bulbs. Well I put them in about two weeks ago, and one of them got real smokey...I mean it went from amber to black, and it kinda melted my headlight. Its not that noticable, but its still there. I'll try and get some pics asap. I don't know whats going on with them, since I've replaced countless bulbs already. Its gonna go to the dealer on Friday, and hopefully get it fixed. I've noticed that on the bulb, on the bottom one of the wire connector things, (theres two on each side) always seems to be smokey, and the plastic around it burnt/melted. I've also noticed that the sockets you put the bulbs in the headlights, one of the connectors in there is also dark. THis has to be the cause of the problem, thats my best guess.
