Before someone screams "search button" I did search around and for a while but came up empty handed. I am looking into getting the 6000K HID kit from 3B. I see that they offer 2 different wattage ballasts. One at 50 and the other at 35.
Am I correct in saying that all the higher wattage ballast does is cause the HID bulb to be brighter and lose some of it's color?
Thanks for the help..

I asked the same question to 3B Spec. and Yes it is brighter but you lose 1000k of colour. So if you buy 6000k lights then the colour with the 50watt ballasts will be 5000k.

I say go with the lower wattage. But if you're going with visibilty, then go with the higher wattage. But higher wattage meands more heat in your housings. And right now with my housings, heat causes my heads to fog up after a car wash.

That's not from heat... that's from poor sealing, moisture is getting inside.... very bad for bulbs!

Actually its both. The heat causes my housings to heat up and fog everything up. So now all I do is make sure I turn off my auto lights before I go wash my car. Problem fixed.
And FYI, my bulbs are never affected by the moisture, they're behind the projector lens. So thanks for your two cents. :thumbsdow

Thanks guys. I am going for visibility over looks with HID's so I don't really want a blue looking color and I will be going with the 6000K HID's.
And even with the 50 watt ballast they will still burn cooler than halogen bulbs, right?
