I think NOS would make the old 3.1 give up the ghost, although it might help the lack of top-end.

Yeah me too. I might think about NOS if I had the cash to replace my motor after it grenaded during a big shot.

:? Nitrous is a very cheap and effective way to add horsepower. All you need to know is the limits of your fuel system and internals. As long as you don't over do it, Nitrous is very safe and "reliable". $500 for a dry kit, few hours to install..and you're flying. Just do some initial research and go from there. Sure, if you're talking a 150+ shot, that'd take some serious work...but, hell, you could even fork over an extra few bucks for a wet kit to be even more safe. Personally, I'm not into it due simply to the fact that n2o is around $4 a pound. I know I'd be way too juice happy and spend $100's a month on the stuff. That's why it ain't for me. :D

i use nitrous on a 16 year old car, a 16 year old turbo car at that, running 18psi with a 55shot and can go up to a 65 shot if i wanted to.........the car still runs as strong as the day i bought i and ive never had a single problem.

if you got the fuel and dont exceed what your internals can ahndle youre fine, its completely safe and reliable, u can spray for a maximum of 15 seconds on any motor without problems, and i can garauntee, youre not gonna need it for 15 seconds lol

im gonna have a wet kit on my cobalt ss, watch me ill put that sucker in the 12's with some more boost, bolt on's, and a 55 shot, i bet u anything i can get it into the 12's, with some drag radials of course.

^^ Well Nitro on http://www.j-body.org is running a 100shot on his stock 2.4 twin cam and his best is around a 13.3! So i'm sure with a supercharger, lsd, bolt ons, more boost, and a 55 shot, you'll be well into the 12's! That is if your motor can handle it :wink:
