I just installed the ingalls stiffy problems

so I just installed the ingalls stiffy damperer and I'm have some questions about it. When my car is idling it sounds like my car is popping popcorn from the passenger side. Also I hear a noise in first gear from idle to 3000 rpm. Any other gears or rpm the car is fine. I am ready to take it off and sell it.

loosen it up for DD.
tighten it for the track.

how do I loosen it up? It's tight on there. I couldn't adjust the eye hook that goes on the left side. The box told me not to have it out more than 6 threads. I'm lost. Can somebody take a pic of theirs to show me what it should look like? I would greatly appreciate it.
