2009 Cobalt SS Lemon - I need support please!

I really could use backup on this!
My 09 SS intermittently has a surging during acceleration problem. I started a thread about 6 weeks ago under the Problems and Service forum.
My car , when asked to go to full throttle sometimes works correctly, and other times will go up to only 200 hp on the performance readout, then drop 50 hp, go back to 200 hp, then cycle maybe another time or two before hitting the redline. You can really feel the intermittent power in your backside too!
The car has been to Chevy, four times, with little effort on their part to attempt to resolve the matter. As expected Chevy says my car is normal.
I’ve started the Florida Lemon law process and will be scheduling another visit at Chevy for their so called “Last attempt” to fix the problem.
Only one of the four previous visits, did the car really act up so who knows how this will go.
What I could use help with is, I really would like to get names, e-mails addresses, phone numbers, etc., of anyone who has any similar issues with a 2009 or maybe 2008 Cobalt SS. Only stock turbo cars please, so as not to muddy up the waters.
If you are interested and are anywhere near Ocala Florida, I’d even try to co-ordinate the appointment at Palm Chevrolet, so that maybe we could get their interest by having more than one defective car show up at the same time.
I am expecting a visit from GM Tech. assistance from Detroit on this one. I can arrange my schedule for anytime from November 10 - November 29th.
Anybody want to help out!!!
If you can’t attend, I’d sure love any V.I.N. numbers of bad cars, so that Chevy doesn’t just say I’m making this up.
Next step will be retaining a lawyer!
Thanks everyone.

I'm sure you may have done this, but have you boost leak checked your car?

Boy I Feel For You .

I think all Cobalts are lemons in my eyes.
I know my 06 SS\SC is ,Never again will I buy another POS Cobalt SS anything.
And I was thinking about buying a SS\TC at one point.(thinking about the G6 Gxp Now)
Then I asked myself...Why do it want another problem Cobalt.
Theyre just POOR designed Cars period, even for the 25,000 price tag

Just venting ...Sorry

Have you tried other dealers?

I'd just start asking for managers etc. Let them know you mean business. Tell them what you are planning and the legal processes you are beginning.

Then for this "last chance" maybe they will pull out all the stops and just check ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to get this back to normal.

I have an 08 and it does not do this. I don't know how it would help but I can vouch for you that it's NOT normal as mine doesn't do that!

I haven't had the Boost Check procedure done, because the Clowns at Chevy say there's nothing wrong.
Their idea of a problem is where's the service engine light or what codes has it triggered?
Of course neither of those has occurred.
The car has been to 2 different Chevy dealers so far with no results.
The dealer I purchased the car from was "Bill Heard Chevrolet" which you may have heard, was the largest Chevy store in the nation, until they declared bankruptcy about 5 weeks ago.
Since then, I've been dealing with my nearby dealer in Ocala, FL "Palm Chevrolet", and they just aren't of the mindset that there even is a problem!!!

Boost leak testing is not really a procedure a dealer is going to do. They simply plug in your car, and if no codes are tripped they give it a clean bill of health. A boost leak is definately a symptom of losing large amounts of power like your claiming. I'm just letting you know, beacause running your car hard with a possible boost leak is very bad for the turbo. Another idea could be a throttle position sensor failure. I had this problem in my SRT-4 and it never threw any codes. Either way, good luck with which ever route you choose.

Well... I got the Hahns tune and one thing it stated was to be sure and tighten all of the clamps. Turbo outlet, both sides of the intercooler, and on the TB.

It wasn't very hard at all... VERY easy and not time consuming. Plus, it was shocking how much more twist they took. They weren't that tight at all.

You could give that a shot. Even if that works I'd let them know what it was.

I believe what you are describing is almost identical to the first TC we sold at our dealership. It came down to a Throttle Position Sensor. I believe someone else mentioned that.

not just cobalts. the quality on all of the GM vehicles has gone down the ******* in the past several years. I come from an all GM family and we havent had a decent vehicle from them since 1998.

short list (immediate family vehicles)
1991 GMC 1500 - loved it. wish i still had it. sold after 11 years and 140k. only needed a trans rebuild at 100k.

1995 Blazer 4x4 (parent's)- not bad but loved to eat pcv valves

1998 cavalier - Brick **** house. slow but u couldnt stop that damn thing. just kept going and going and....

1999 Montana van (parent's)- POS. ate head gaskets every other year. rust. electrical gremlins. BUT...very big and comfortable

2002 GMC Sonoma 4x4 (bought to replace the 1991)-utter piece of ****. sloppy driveline, blown axel seals, blown drive shaft seal, bad pittman arm, underpowered, poor gas mileage, starter kept seizing, ugh.

2003 Sunfire - noisy, slow, bad brake master cylinder caused brakes to seize up immediately after i drove off the dealer lot, blown rear struts from factory, bad wheel sensor, leaking trunk.

2004 Corvette (dad's toy)- front alignment way off from factory, bad weather seals on convertible top, conv top poorly aligned and rubbed on fold down gate, cheap paint quality with blems.

2006 cobalt LS (replaced 2002 truck) - cheap and sloppy interior, bad fit and finish, horrible tires, steering column noisy/loose, would be pissed if it werent just a beater.

2006 Cobalt SS/SC - Blown tranny and oil soaked clutch at 8k, leaky oil pan at 11k, cheap interior plastics, slower than it should be:/

2007 GMC Envoy 4x4 (parent's) - shitty tranny / transfer case with sloppy shifts. seems to be a trend with the GM push button 4x4 drivetrains.
