Havent been hearing much about the GM Stage kit...

A few weeks ago every other post was about the GM stage kit for the SS/TC. Recently all has gone quiet on that front. Has GM's financial situation killed any hope of having them produce one?

There is not going to be a GM stage kit for the Cobalt LNF!

Would you put money on it? I am fairly confident the stage kit will come out from the people I talked to from the GM tech center and all of the development they have done and giving specific tune for each vehicle.

I've been saying this since August. The kit has been halted due to $. No one wanted to believe me then...maybe now they can finally grasp the reality of the situation...

If GM doesn't put out a emission certified/warrantied Stage kit for the LNF's, then the relative importance of SC Stage 1 & Stage 2 kits takes on a whole new realm.

Since we all know the government isn't going to let a major automaker in their country to just die off and have 100000000's of jobs lost i'd beg to bet that after GM gets bailed out they will put the stage kits into production.

LNF stage kits are the last of GM's worries right now.

God I love the internet, proof or dont say it. I'm not saying you are wrong, but don't go spitting rumors. It's bad enough we are having this stage kit conversation.

He's from Hawaii, obviously he's working in a top level automotive job

I seriously doubt we'll see a stage kit. If we do, that'd be great, but don't hold your breath!

Another way of looking at it - they have apparently already finished all the development and testing of the kit, have a part number for various things surrounding the kit - so they are just going to throw that money away rather than releasing it when all the major cost is already done?

Doubtful. We shall see.

at least for the '07-08 LNF apps
I heard rumor from one of the other posts '09 was in cert process, then will be released all togther

with the '07-08 delopment done it would likely be more of a waste to not offer the kit

BTW many programs get financial approval far in advance, just look at 2009 gm sponored race teams
