Horrible News
So I called that GM number from another thread that lets us Canadians know when our vehicles will be built. And once I got through I gave them my order number and this what I was told in response
"You have ordered a 2005 Cobalt SS/SC. Your car was originally schedualed to be built on March 7 2005. However the 2005 model run was a limited production run which is finishing. Your order has now been pushed back to June 14 2005 as a 2006 model"
Mine was ordered October 4 2004. I had the build date 3 weeks ago. I am going to GM tonight to try to figure this out, but it sounds like a lot of us that our cars were being built might not be getting them.
The red line or SRT-4 is looking better everyday.

How is anyone going to know about a car if you don't advertise it.
I'm also getting a little tired of all these "GM needs to get their act together" posts.
This is the first year for this car, it's never been made before. Im sure some issues they couldn't have forseen have affected production. At least GM is trying to get a decent product out, rather then rush and get some POS car with thousands of defects, like some other industries seem to think is OK to do (*ahem MICROSOFT ahem*).
Thats just my rant.
Just Went To GM
I went to my dealership to straighten this up, and guess what....ITS ALL TRUE
While I was the sale manager heard me talking to my friend/salesman about this and said "Give me the order, I'm gunna make a phone call". He came back a few minutes later red in the face and said. "Yup, this is true. It seems GM has made/is going to only make 700 of the SS/SC in the first year. If your order is flagged as sold (which mine is) then it isn't even going to be built (even in June)."
We all figure there is a huge delay GM is not letting on about. Now I am not sure if this is Canada only, but don't be surprised if a bunch of people get similar news over the next few days/weeks.
My dealership is one of the biggest sellers in the Toronto area, so he the sale manager is going to try to pull some strings tomorrow to up my build date, but I doubt it will happen
What worries me more is that no actual SS S/C are being built for the general public. I know some are built courtesy of Banshee's info, but even he has only seen a few finished products. What if these are GM exec cars only and we all have to wait till June?

If the 2005 Cobalt SS S/C is going to be limited production thats good for us people who are actually getting our order filled.
If GM told me I would have to wait until the 2006 model year I would have them cancel the order and get something else.

Yeah seriously... I hope this does not affect the LS also!! I put my order in the last week of December and as far as last week, the car was still in "Papper Form" lolol
So I'm wondering, why is it taking so long to build the LS Coupes with THE 1SB PACKAGE?
The excuse I got was, GM is focusing on the Automatics for the most part!!... And as of right now, today, I still have not heard anything. I don't want to keep calling my dealer either.. I don't have an order number to call GM too!... Hmmmmmmmmmmm???
What's that number you guys used to call GM... I take it and think of some way of getting info!!!
