well if you have the shift light then 2000-2500 is when it cuts on depending on throttle position.

let it bounce off the rev limiter 3-4 times, then shift. For each gear though.

Not if you're not trying to go fast. If you want to accelerate, then shift a little later. I'm usually not in a hurry, nor on a hill, so shifting there is ok. If you barely touch the throttle, you're not hurting your engine but shifting that low.

that little shift light thingy...just use it if you want to know this...tells you optimum shift for your driving at the time

daily driving though...2-4k depending, getting on it...about 6600

It's not particularly good with it, especially if you have a ss/sc. The clutch hates shifting there. Either way, you're bogging the engine from 1st-2nd pretty badly.

For average driving, first gear I like to go up to 35 to 37ish, easy on the throttle, but quick. Then bang it into 2nd, then go sorta nice and easy into third, shifting at 3,200 or so. It sounds great and is much better shifting higher. And you don't accidentally slip the clutch. Nice 'n quick.

Im wondering where most people find the best place to shift into second at. Im new to manual and 2nd is the only one thats a problem for me. It jerks more then down shifting nearly 90% of the time when going into 2nd, whether I shift at 2k rpms, or 3k rpms. Getting on the accelerator for a half second before cluch is fully out usually helps alot, but I know thats bad.

its only 2nd that gives me this problem.
