Might seem kind of gay, but me and my buddies back home used to go out on Friday and Saturday night to cruise the strip, talk shop with other car people, and show off our cars. You know the usual stuff. I have moved since then, gotten my SS/TC since then, and been bored out of my mind since then. ANYWAYS...

Any people know of any decent places to go and do the same at, anywhere between Durham, Burlington, and Roxboro? If somebody does, maybe a few of us local balt owners can meet up from time to time, and check out the scene.

And yeh I know its cold as **** out this time of the year, but I'm willing to freeze my nuts a little for something to do on a Friday/Saturday night.

im in raleigh.....1badblueberrysc is in raleigh.....we arent far at all....i work in durham......but we have plans this weekend (rockingham on saturday and dyno on sunday in fayetteville).........

roxboro.... wow.. aint much to do in roxboro.. aside from the strip (which I dont know if its open still this time of year) and maybe palace point. My sis lives in roxboro, and I am originally from oxford. Better off heading to raleigh or durham I would imagine.

I see NO cobalts here...only lil' high school kids with hondas with fart cannons...

 

I work in concord but live in salisbury, and I feel like the only cobalt around. bryce712, you go out much I'm in mooresville a few times a week, maybe we cold get something started, I have never meet someone with a moded cobalt I usally get made fun of for driving one more less go to a cobalt meet around here. ******* HONDAS

 

Yeh it sucks...you always see the "american muscle" club or the "import tuner" club. But where the **** is the American Tuner club at? I get so tired of seeing so0o0o0 many douche bags hanging out somewhere thinking their APC logoed rice burners are the ****, and what can you do when ur only 1 deep in your cobalt? Or the scenario where every guy is the "car" guy and all they talk about is their car and thats it. There are other things to talk about then your ******* car, but maybe thats just me.

Anyways we definately need to get some meets, some cruises, etc. going locally. Im booked for December with holidays going on(sure most of you are the same) but mid January and beyond I should have some time available to dick around some.

 

I know exactly what you mean steven. I tell people at meets my car (a sedan) is more "show than go". I just like being around the cars and the element. They still persist to try to pull me to the drag strip,etc. For some reason, most of the people in eastern nc and far west have a fondness for american modding. Around central nc, if you don't have a civic si or vw with skirts, you stick out if your car is modded. I like being different !

Hey guys im definately, down for a cruise and meet in January. Maybe we could pick a place in the middle between Raleigh and Winston. Atleast then noone has to drive more than hour or so. I know High Point used to have a strip, don't know if they still do. Any ideas anybody?

i usually cruise in hickory on saturday nights. might be a bit of a drive for u tho.

 

I was told by some ppl that live near hickory that the cops where bustin down on ppl cruising up and down the road, something about if you drove down some raod there more then twice in an hour or so that they would pull you and harass the **** out of you, and say that you are trying to street race? idk never been just hear say.

 

nooo they're not that bad. lol. just dont be stupid and stomp on it every time you take off from a stop light. we usually go from spot to spot and meet up with people. sure, you have your **** talkers and rednecks in big ass trucks talking **** but thats when i just roll up the window. not worth my time.

 

^ well whats going on 2morrow? you going out there? if so then can we meet up with you before cuz I have no idea of where these spots are, and I have owned my cobalt for 2 years without ever going to any meet, a few car shows but I was the only 4 banger there!

and might I add that I did win hottest sport compac there LOL!

 

haha yeah man i'll probably be out. there is a few 2.2L and a couple SS/SC's that come out. where are you from?
