Feeler thread: trade my modded 07ss/sc for new tc

i have been thinkin of trading my car in for a 09 ss/tc. just wondering what you guys and gals think. please keep to a serious discussion. my car is in great condition with gmpp products and aftermarket products on the car. So here are my questions:

Should i trade or sell outright?
If i trade Should i take the aftermarket off and leave the gmpp parts on? Or go back to stock.
Sedan or couple? Im leaning towards the sedan at the moment.
Should i leave cobalts alone and go w/ a AWD turbo'd car

Let me hear your perspective. Im pretty torn on this subject. Once again lets keep this to the topic at hand. Thanks in advance.

tons of threads like this.....don't let everyone push you one way or the other. Gut feeling what do you think? Almost 2K posts on here you obviously know about these cars and what they are capable of.....weigh what you feel is the best for what you want out of a car and do it.

Sell your car outright and get something practical. If a SS/TC Sedan is practical then by all means.

Sadly even with GMPP parts a dealer doesn't give two ***** about your trade in. They are mearly doing you a favor and taking the car off your hands at a tidy profit to them.

Make sure if you do plan on trading in your car you haggle the price down greatly before even considering letting them know you have a trade in.

if you decide to trade go back to stock and sell your parts like stated above you won't get anything more with them. but if you decide to sell private then you could probably get more money with the mods you have done. but GL with whatever you decide

for sure. I traded in my eclipse and one Gm dealership was only willing to give me $2400 so i went down the road and the other GM dealer game me $4500! and the price of the cobalt was the same at both dealerships so don't let them screw you. When i bought my TC i was thinking about getting an EVO cuz it's AWD but to tell you the truth I drove it and it just didn't seem as much fun as the TC. Yeah they grip off the line but there top end sucks and I love having a kick ass top end. The choice is really up to you man. Either choice is a good one whether AWD performance or FWD performance. Just don't let the dealerships bully you

IMO if you are looking for AWD and get a FWD then you will be disappointed after a while. I know I sometimes regret not getting AWD but I don't have to deal with any snow and don't go to the track all the time. Whatever suits you, don't let anyone else make the decision for you.

Do you really want to be stuck with a cobalt for 4-6 more years? I know I damn sure wouldn't.

i was in the same situation as you. 06 ss/sc with gmpp stage 2, exhaust, manifold, k&n cai, ingalls stiffy, traction bars, catless 3" downpipe, h&r springs, yellow fogs, 18" liquid metal rims. i kept the ingalls, traction bars and fogs when i traded mine in. got a ss/tc sedan and it was the best move i made. i still got $11k for ss/sc trade in so it wasnt too bad.

From everything i've seen so far the ss/tc have far more potential for power than the ss/sc, seeing already over 300whp/300torque with just a tune speaks for itself, a modded ss/tc sedan is a MASSIVE sleeper and as others have said it's practical too for passengers and kids if u got em or plannin on havin them.

I know there are many threads but i have not been on this site in months, and not many has been made since 08 tc owners finally got into tearing into the car, esp those owners who previously owned a ss/sc

that is true, and i have a steady g/f and are thinking of getting married here so, ,but on and start having kids. i love my cobalt and thats why i want a turbo sedan.

so with that said, one more question turbo cobalt.... or g8

Turbo Cobalt is a much better value in terms of cost and performance.

G8 is a much nicer car; period.

Depends what you want! Cheap speed or an overall very nice car (but you'll pay for it).

Given the choice, I'd have a manual G8 (which means it'd have to be a GXP) if money were no option. Since those are $40,000 in GXP trim and I'm not loaded, I have a SS/TC
