2.6 or 2.7

Yes I know its been beaten to death in the past years of the thread search but figured heck why not, im bored atm and maybe some more new info is out on this topic (probably not though)

Now If running e85 witch pulley would you go with? Im on 2.7 already and the 2.6 has been on my mind. Mostly from what I heard of a torque gain

Some input from experienced people who went this route would be nice. If a mod thinks this thread is pointless then please delete. Thanks

I'm currently on a 2.7", fully bolted, full cooling, catless, e85, ported blower m62. Last dyno was 288whp (I'm on a slightly more aggressive tune from when i dynoed.) Gains are made to be had dropping to a 2.6" but then your also overspinning the blower at that point and generating even more heat. A couple people have gained power and mostly torque with the 2.6. I was thinking of dropping to the 2.6" as well. I think I can gain 5-10whp with a bit of torque down low with my current setup.

sub'd

I am running a 2.7, 60s, option b, dual pass, phenolic spacer, and mid length header/catted dp, ls4, and k&n.

Want to up to a 3in intake, ported blower, meth, 2.6, and maybe port the ls4 (see if I can get any gains from that, although doubtful with the m62), and a stealth/griffin h/e.

Sub'd for more info as well.

Last year gas price got so cheap here in AZ that our e85 stations stopped selling it. My buddies from California were asking me to get it for them. I could not get it so they went to Las Vegas NV or ordered 55 gallon drums. At least they can get but is availability back to being common yet? One more question. Florida has much humidity. Is that an issue? Is a separator needed in Florida or is it just not causing any problems?

Yes you will gain power. Maybe ~5ish whp and 5+ trq. Since you're on e85 you can drop to a 2.6 without any worries. you will be creating more heat though. its a toss up, but in the end you'll squeeze out more with the smaller pulley.

Check out this cool comparison 100% meth did. This was comparing a 2.8 to a 2.5 though.
