Door panel question
Door panel question
Hey guys I was wanting to know if the top piece in the door panel (where you pull from the inside to shut the door) comes off.
I know in the SS's it's like leather or something, mine is light tan cloth and it's starting to look nasty from having dirty hands lol.
I'm wanting to wrap it in another material.
P.s. sorry if this is a repost, tried searching and couldn't find anything.

If you are talking about the piece that is on the arm rest and has the window switches in it........then yes it comes off WITHOUT TAKING OFF THE DOOR PANEL.......there is a small plate in the bottom of the hand cup or cubby hole.....take that off and there is a screw there to take out.....then you need to slide the whole piece back towards the rear of the door and it will pop out........Later
Well, he's talking about the cloth arm rest, and yes it does come off, but not easily.
You can take the switch panel off easily without taking off the whole door panel, but to get to the cloth armrest you gotta take the whole thing off. The cloth is riveted onto the panel itself, you have to remove the rivets to take it out. Then, you can just recover it with vinyl like most people on here. You have to apply it over the cloth though.
Make sure that when you take the door panel off that you don't break any of the plastic pins. Do it one by one.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about except mine doesn't have switches... manual crank windows FTL...
I've never wrapped anything in vinyl, and figured I can just teach myself, I've seen other people do it though, does anyone know what kind of adhesive I should use?
