Agreed, this is one of those "down the road" things I've been considering.

Spooler, did you have to tune them? If so, what did you use to tune them? How does it idle? Was it a big gain in acceleration/hp?

I got JBP Stage 2 Cams,
but they will require tuneing. I get a non-performance effecting code. (info on JBP site)
but my car is stock except for the cams, and the cams cause the supercharger to over boost, and the by-pass valve dumps the boost back to stock levels at about 5600RPM from 100kpa to 87kpa (14.6 to 12.5).

plus side is, I make stock HP about 1000RPM sooner. (dyno on JBP site)
I tried the boost by-pass mod, and and the car pulled much harder, and I hit the rev limiter much quiker at about 110Kpa ( 16psi). I'd leave the mood but I'm worried about leaning out.

Yeah I heard that all the cams throw codes. I'm wondering if it's a code like the intake throws such as it being safe or not. Because the p0171 code the intake throws doesn't mean the car is lean, it's because the ecu is really sensitive and gay and you don't have to worry about it.

The Comp Cams stage one we sell work really well. Also the "blower" cams for the 2.0 work really well. Nice top end HP increase. No dyno results, but I have driven a car with these cams.

Install IMO would take about 2-3 hours, so $150-250 range i would guess to get installed.

The ecotec cams are actually easy to change, well atleast to the 2.4L LD9 out of the Cavalier.

If you dont want computer mods i would not recomend getting the stage 2 or 3.

You might get away with the stage 2 with no valve springs, but i know for a fact you need them for the stage 3 as we have them (in a 2.2L Ecotec).

not really car runs just as well as it did before, except for the additional power, and the starting problem.

the code I get is the P0017 NOT P0171.
the P0017 can only be read with the Tech 2, and then had to be looked up on the computer ( dealer data base). P0017 as a code indicating that the Cam angle, is different then the Crank angle, it has to do the way the cam is made. this is also directly related to the starting problem I'm haveing.
