Aem Cai Installed W Pics And Vids

It was a nice day here in lousy NY so I decided to make some vids of the exhaust, engine, and SC. The engine makes a sweet sucking noise pre-rev, the exhaust gurgles now, and the SC is louder than hell.

Ive noticed a significant difference in the response of the SC, and the wheels spin even more in second post CAI install. Best of all, there is NO CEL. The engine temp runs a little higher, but overall the AEM CAI is amazing.

Hope you guys enjoy the vids, leave me some feedback.

Heres the SC scream:

Heres the exhaust gurgle ( The exhaust knocks the camera back! ):

Heres the CAI sucking noise:

Heres a pic of the CAI and my buddy Joe being a smart ass:

Im from Buffalo unfortunately. We get tons of snow and rain here, and then the occasional cloudy day.

I weigh about 170-175, why? Camera angle was kinda crappy in the 1st vid (had to zoom out to eliminate dash). I ended up bringing her to about 110 mph, then the roads got kinda bumpy and decided to shut her down.

Okay, when I first got my intense kit, I thought my car was the fastest SHI*** ever. Now it feels slower by the day, Why, probably because I just got used to it. However now that I see your video it reminds me of exactly how my car used to run b4 the kit. And it just looks kind of slow. Please dont take this wrong man, I dont mean to offend you.

How long (many miles) have you put on it w/ the CAI? If you don't have to many I wouldn't hold my breath about no CEL happening I put damn near 200 on mine with the INJEN before I got my first CEL then I tried new plugs, iridium, CEL dissapeared for 60 miles and came back. It's intermittent and harmless but anoying as hell

No offense taken. What I should bring to your attention however is how I wasnt giving it full juice in the first run. In the second run however, I dropped into 2nd from 5th at 40mph and the wheels started to spin. Notice how my car is pulling right. That was cuz my wheels were chirping.

I made the vid to show how much louder the SC is with the CAI. I could have punched it from 1st and went a 1/4mi WOT, but my camera would have fallen seeing how it was held up loosely by my head rest.

Ive driven it well over 200 miles easily. Ive already been through a couple gas tanks with it and had no problems with an CEL. I hope the damn thing wont turn on. Im going to keep an eye on it however.

Quick question for ya. Did you try and disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery to get rid of the CEL?

Ok, I don't get it. You bought a CAI....that requires you to use more than half the stock piping? Please clarify this for me.

Yup. Im not looking for pimping out my car, Im looking for performance. AEM was claimed to be better than K&N, and was also claimed not to throw any CEL's. So far, both seemed to have been true. I dont know how much more HP its added, but its definitely noticable. As soon as I get the chance Im going to get a dyno done and post it.

It's only an extra $50-70 but I still like the AEM for it's good fitment and stock look. Most people like the added looks of the full intake. Doesn't mean they are morons

I agree about the looks. I dont mind having the stock piping. All I care about is performance and convenience. Besides that, I bought it shipped for $187, which is about $40 cheaper than most CAI with piping. Thats 40 more dollars I get to spend on another mod.

As for where I bought it, I got it through www.turbotechracing.com. They are THE BEST in my opinion to get everything Cobalt. Their prices are reasonable, and they have a good selection.

Speaking of which, I just bought torque dampeners from them today. I cant wait until they get here. Im going to use them instead of torque braces.

Ive been waiting forever for Torque Forward to come out with torque braces for my 06, but theyve been dropping the ball and havent finished them yet. Its ok though, cuz I think the dampeners are better anyway, and Im getting em for $164 shipped from turbotech, as opposed to close to $200 for the torque braces.
