Might be trading in the 05 for an 09...

well my 05 S/c just hit 100k. its my dd and i love it. no real problems. just replaced the half-shafts this week. i got a paper in the mail about a used-car buyback event. the dealer pretty much seems like they do what they can to make you happy with a trade-in, if you buy a new vehicle from them. im upsidedown on my 05 (mainly due to the highway mileage depreciating my car, even tho its still in great condition), but i hope this can be something that i can maybe get a good trade-in on the 09 t/c and get a good interest rate etc. any of you guys that recently bought new t/c SSs, are they dealing on them or are they pretty strict with the prices? my current payment is like 330/mo and im hopin they can get me in the 09 for like 370/mo when its all said and done. think that would be possible? any feedback would be appreciated.

i have 2 prospects at the moment. the dealer that send me the buy-back paper has an 09. they will likely give me a decent trade-in or maybe even pay it completely off, as it says. if so, they probly wont budge much from the sticker.

prospect 2 is that i trade in mine to this other dealer that has a couple 08s that were part of a 'wind damage' batch from the plant. likely they'll give me like 6 for mine on trade but do you think i can get them down even more?

which seems like the more likely scenerio that i can get into one of these cars at my targeted price?

Well with my dealer and from what I've read from other members, dealers are trying to do whatever they can to get your buisness. My car stickered at 25k and I got it for 21xxx out the door. Pretty good I suppose. I've heard others getting them for around 20k after taxes out the door.

I don't see it working out...because no matter what, dealer is not going to take a bath just to put you into a new vehicle.

Agreed, my old car was paid off so they were probably willing to work with me more. If you can get them to pay off you're ss/sc then I doubt they will go down much on the ss/tc. Just go in and check, won't hurt.

I'd say check out the wind damaged 08's for a better deal.

I traded my 06 SS/SC in today and got only $11800 for it but the good part is what I drove home in....

White 07 Subaru WRX STI only 8000 miles, 1 owner (40 year old pilot) fully loaded except for no sunroof which wouldn't have mattered to me anyway. I know there are some haters in here but what a f'n impressive piece of machinery!! So much nicer inside and out, tons more grip and power! I thought about getting the new SS/TC and I'm glad I went this direction instead.

id love to have an STI, they are very nice. congrats on your new purchase. you are 100% correct in saying that they r a very impressive car.

i am thinking my best chance is to get into the wind damaged 08. they have a few of them and i guess theyve been sitting there for awhile. he assures me that they r fine though. i am thinking my trade in is gonna kill me because of the miles (even though the car doesnt reflect high mileage at all, looks great). the 08 is listed at 20g's. lets say im 4g's upside down or something after trade, if i have about 1.5g's to put down towards it, think i can be in it for $380/mo?

im not sure yet on the 08. i know the 09 at the other place was 2.9 for up to 60mo and 4.9 for 72mo

i wasnt given an interest rate when i talked to the guy about the 08. he just told me to come down. i cant see it being 10% on a new car though, could it?

well i was just putting high
but 24k at 2.9% for 5 years = 430/month
and 24k at 4.9% for 6 years = 378/month
so... ya you might just be able to get it around $380

well the dealer wouldn't budge off of the asking price of the wind damaged 08 plus they would only give me $4500 for mine. I had mine checked over at a shop the week before and it needs nothing and is super clean. has a small scratch on the lower clip and the standard rock chips that come with highway driving. I couldn't give in to a 4500 trade offer. i found some very low-mile used 08s, so im going to see if i can maybe work something out with those.
