To clear up what I am confused about...

So I don't want this to turn into an argument like it has in many other threads I have read. I am curious about a bov on this car, if someone runs a new IC, IC piping, intake, dp exhaust and a tune, and has a bpv delete plate, running a bov, IS THIS BAD? Some people are saying its fine, others are saying BAD, others are having problems, others are running it with no problem. So I guess my question is, whats the deal with bovs on this car, I know most people are saying "its dumb your only doing it for sound" but isn't it good, and most deffinatly if you plan on going bigger turbo?
Man I am just confused I guess, if someone could clear this up without an argument that would be awsome!

Thanks

Everyone has their own tale to tell, personally i prefer to do it correctly. Meaning if you plan on venting it you put the maf in the intercooler pipe and the bov before it, and tune it with hptuners.
If you put on a bigger turbo you have to put in a bov since the stock one is inside the stock turbo, but some will recirculate the air rather than vent it.

I'll be getting the same BOV.

To run it correctly, you would need to have your MAF transfered to your cold side piping just before the t-map sensor and boost hose. Your BOV can be put anywhere on the hot side piping.

You need to get a maf flange welded onto the cold side ic pipe like so, then you need to adjust the maf calibration and base adjustment in hptuners to make it all work.
Also connect the bov directly to the intake manifold, bypassing that solenoid its connected to, also plug up the nipple beside the tmap sensor(this hose goes back to bov solenoid, its useless now so plug it up) and get a block off plate for the stock bypass valve.

Granted this is on a solstice, but you get the idea.

no CELS with the synapse bov vented to atmosphere, red comet. I did have a CEL for a bit, but i was running my lines all funny and messed up the lines to my boost solenoid, so i was overboosting. It seems the computer is adjusting to a certain extent so drivability has increased. It still jerks once in a while. Just gotta get my synapse turbo intake with recirc fitting to solve the problem
