Lowered the Cobalt, then..

Well, my best friend and I lowered my car on Eibach Sportlines tonight, which are ******* amazing by the way, and whilst pulling out the front-left strut, a little plastic piece fell off. I have no clue what the **** it is or what it does. It was located somewhat near the rear, of the inner part of the fender on the top.

It's not broken, I just need to figure out what it is and how to put it back.

I'll post them tomorrow, it's about midnight here. It's ******* slammed though. The front and back wheels are near tucked on stock steelies; the front more so than the back, but you get the idea.

For sure bro. It's ******* easy as hell. Don't listen to the time estimate to install them with the how-to's on this forum, especially the front. Some dude estimated 2-4 hours on the front alone. We got it done in an hour flat, front and back.

Nah, it's not the bump stop. The bump stop is located inside of a rubber-type housing, that surrounds the strut.

This is some **** like, top of the fender, behind the strut, towards the center of the car.

Yeah man, it should be really easy. I really can't exaggerate enough on that. Don't worry about torque specs for most of the bullshit either; just impact the **** on. Like the strut to steering knuckle, or stabilizer link to strut nut. My friend who helped me works on these ***** day in and day out. There's no need for torquing that crap. If you've got all the tools in front of you, it's cake.

Yeah I have those in my wheel wells as well. Honestly I don't know what they are for. I wanted to take pictures and post on here so somebody could tell me but I never got around to taking the pics. Was it attached to a tube or anything else? I imagined that it funneled air through there and the flap on it would open, letting in air to cool the brakes.

That could make sense.

Haha.

Hell, if it was made of cheap ass plastic, it couldn't have been too important.

Yeah, it was worth it for sure. The only gripe I have, is it feels like when I accelerate from first, it feels like front-left wheel like wobbles side to side or something. It's weird, you won't feel it past 1st gear. My friend doesn't notice it, so I might be crazy.

Here is the picture, it was taken via camera phone.

Also, no **** I don't have hubcaps, I nailed a curb at the beginning of Winter and destroyed two of them, so for now I'm just **** out of luck.

All it is, is a drain that mounts at the top of the inside of the fender well. Next time you raise the car look up inside the fender and youll see where it goes. One of mine broke when I had to do some suspension work. Its No biggie.

Spring take a little settle in all the way. My car looks slammed even on the stock steelies. I'm more than satisfied with it.

and shadow, that "wobble" your feeling is normal when you lower a car. your changing the driveline angle of the axle so its causing that slight vibe
