I have been looking into buying a Cobalt SS Supercharger 2006. I went to test drive one last night. My big complaint was the clutch sucks big time. Sadly I couldn't seem to find the brake point in the clutch (didn't have that problem test driving the WRX STI). However once I got it going into 1st it took off like a nasty habbit, however I notice a big lag climbing the RPM's in second and since I ran out of space on city streets I didn't get to see 3rd.

The question I have is, is there a solid aftermarket clutch that has a better brake point? I bought a Clutch Masters for my 76 280Z and couldn't be happier with the break point on it but sadly clutch masters currently doesn't offer one on the Cobalt. I am not looking for anything serious just stage I, or just something where you can feel the break point so I don't go puttering around in 1st like I can't drive or something.

Also any cheap upgrades to help pull through 2nd a little better? It would be nice to have the same pull in power I saw in 1st, as in 2nd.

I dont know if this has anything to do with it or not, but was the engine broken in?
Second gear wasnt very good when I first got my car, but once I reached about 2000 miles, it really got a lot better. Second pulls like crazy after 2800 RPMs.

Just this morning, I got to 60 MPH in second in no time at all.

I dont know if this is the rule, or an exception, but thats MY personal experiance.
