Has anybody replaced rear brake rotors and pads with aftermarket?

Being that I am getting tremendously fed up with my noisy rear brakes, I am investigating getting something aftermarket to end it once and for all.

I am wondering if any of you have gotten aftermarket pads and rotors for you SS/TC and how much you paid for them.

I am only interested in the fitment for the 08 and 09 Turbo SS's so unless the Supercharged SS's have identical fitment, please maintain the discussion to the SS/TC's only.

Thanks.

The only rotors Maven & I have found are the stock ones but he assures me the rotors are not the problem, the pads are. (after I removed the casting flash from the caliper brackets) I posted the GM Part #'s in another thread and have 2 new ones on order.

I have a set of EBC Redstuff pads from an '08 Solstice ready to put on as soon as the rotors come. My original rotors are very scored up at 10K miles now and I could have them turned, but I prefer not to.

The Saab pads are the same EBC part number.

Edit: My rotors should be here Sat FedEx. Hopefully I'll get them on this weekend if I don't have to work.

Rotors arrived today and I installed the EBC Redstuff pads & new GM rotors. Took it out in the snow for about 10 miles to make sure they are ok. So far, so good.

The Solstice pads fit fine indeed.

Maven,
Thanks for all your input on the brakes over the past few months.

My rears are eaten up at only 2600 mi. Its pathetic. Took it to the dealer to see whats up, and they told me it was rust on the brakes from it sitting on the lot. I don't buy it. That should have been gone pretty quick. The pads grind like ***** whenever I even slightly touch the brakes.

Gonna take it back to the dealer and tell them its getting worse (which it is).

Let me know if the dealer fixes it for free under warranty....I am thinking about doing the same thing.

They better! I mean, 2600 miles and they have a lip around the outside edge of the rotor already. Its pretty stupid how fast these are wearing.

Now... if i could only get them to warranty tires, lol.

i had the same problem 2 months ago and the stealership wanted me to wait a month til gm came back from there vacation to order some from the assembly line. I just went ahead and ordered some from over the top performance. speaking of the stealership, i cant believe they called me a couple days ago telling me how they just received the rotors and pads. Its been 2 months already, i just hung up on them.

The rust on them from sitting is crap. My race car has rust on the rotors every time I take it to the track. Same set of pads and rotors for 3 years. And believe me, they get abused.

Which pads did you get from OTT? The only ones I see listed are Hawk HPS rear pads for 08-09. Are they working good for you?
