Can anyone point in in the right direction. My friend has a older 85"s style silverado truck that has a 350 with a edelbrock performance series carb. The truck runs fine but when we hit highway speeds it stumbles a little. Also dose not want to shift into 3rd when at wide open throttle. It droves around town fine. Also it backfires when you let off the gas when at highway speeds. I need some help with troubleshooting hit problem. I think we can take care of the timing issue but I have never worked on a edelbrock carb so I do not know how to adjust them.

 

what series carb? 650? Making the 650 series carb on a 350 motor is a bitch! My dad still has problems with fuel delivery with a new carb I bought him one year.

 

It is a 600 cfm. We found the problem. It was the fuel pump. The carb was not getting enough fuel at highway speeds. Also we change is muffler. His had a big hole in it. When I saw big I mean it was exploded out all the way down the seem. I think all of the back fiers helped that to happen. Any way no need for any more help.

 

sweet. glad it all worked out. was it just a bad fuel pump... or you needed something that could pump even a greater amount of fuel?? (upgrade). Just would like to know
