'06 2.4 SS Hard shift & TC light on.. Throttle not constant?

Ok for the past 2 months this has been very rare but occasionally from a moderate acceleration, the TC light will pop on and the tranny starts shifting extremely hard. I found that turning off the car for a few moments, while in park, cures this. Well as of late it has been doing it more often, and mainly seems to happen anytime the tach hits the 3500-4500 marks.. Car is stock, except for aftermarket floor matts (had to throw that in there). I am on the edge of rolling over my warranty so i will take it in. Still curious if others that have had similar issues had same thing.

Also, not sure if its related, but my butt dyno is telling me that the throttle is not always constant. It seems like sometimes i have much more less power then other times. I am talking almost 30 hp worth difference. I almost always drive without ac, so I know that isn't it. I know the car is throttle by wire, so is it possible that there is an issue with the PCM?

Canada Had the same problem

It's the drivetrain control module. I had the same thing happen to me the replaced mine under the power train warranty. I have a question for you too though cause I am having another problem and am wondering if you are experiencing thew same thing now that the drivetrain control module has been replaced. At certain outside temps my car is revving at like 3000 RPM...... Is this happening to you?

no i am not. is it a constant rev or periodic rev? Had the problem in my jeep that it would rev like that on colder days... turned out it was a combination of throttle position sensor, maf, and crank position sensor. Since it is temp related, I would start at your temp sensor (engine, not outside). Check the voltage range, and ensure the DCM has a good ground.

Fixed, case closed

Well the TC light was a result of an engine code. Turns out the MAP sensor went out, and it is a GM known issue. They replaced it today, and i will give it a good running to make sure she is running good again. When they hooked her up, she was throwing a MAP code and EBCM code. dont remember the numbers.. if they have it on the paperwork, i will update with them tonight. Just another add for the 06 TC light issue. Lovely isnt it?

Edit codes were P0106 MAP PERFORMANCE C0561 TRACTION SYSTEM DISABLED DUO TO MAP CODE
