Just ordered new brakes

Ordered new rear brakes bc GM really stands behind their product..

16000 miles and my rear brakes are metal to metal, tso i bring it to the dealer, and they want to charge me 541.00 to replace the pads and rotors

I told them to pound salt and ordered EBC Red stuff rear pads and gm rotors from crate engine depot, my total came to right over 250 shipped.

And i would just like to ask everyone that is having this problem to bring their car to the dealership and let GM know about it, its obscene how my front brakes are 50% still but my rears in the negative percentages I am keeping my reciepts and dealer service sheet thing just in case there ever is a recall.

I will be sure to take pics and do a step by step install of the rear brakes, ill will take side by sides of the products too...

UPDATE: Just got the rotors in from CED(Good vendor) and have had the pads for a couple days, so a how to should be up within a day or two

Yup, sure did, 7266 is the SC and 2.4 rear rotor. To my knowledge no one makes an aftermarket rotor yet.

I just ordered GM rotors so hopefully i will be able to do this this within a week or two.

But here is my situation, my front brakes are fine, my rear passenger rotor is shot and the pad is to the backing plate.

My driver rear, the rotor is shot but there is still a little pad left.

My arguement with GM is, due to my abuse to the brakes the rears went first, the passenger rear to be specific, yet my fronts are perfectly fine and they do 70 percent of the braking. How can a dealer get away with stuff like this and blame it on abuse, when the parts are clearly defective?

Post your brake experiences if you have them

Sounds odd they would wear out so fast? The rears are off a Saab 9-3. I just did rear pads on my Saab at 90,000 miles! Just weird!

i'm at 50,000km and i'm just now doing my front brakes and my rears are still holding up fine. my front rotors on the other hand have taken a beating but that is due to a few seasons of racing and some harsh braking.

There's lots of threads about this problem. My rears where metal to metal and scored rotors by 8k. Factory defect.
