Widest possible tire?

I have a set of 18x7.5" +45 offset rims and I'm lowered about an inch, maybe inch and a half on progress springs. Would 235/40/18 be possible to run? Can I go any wider/taller, or is that about the max it can go with no problems? I really don't care about the speedo being off, but i want the widest/tallest tires possible.

I ran 245/35 18's on mine dropped on Eibach's. I'll find you a pic, hang on.

Damn, never mind. Just saw the 18x7.5, mine were 18x8's. Sorry.

Here's the rear from a 3/4 view....

Rear from the side....

Front from the side....

A couple money shots....

I've heard of "some" people getting some rubbing with 245-40-18, especially on the rear. Others claim it works. For a lowered car with 7.5" wide wheels, the 235-40-18 tire size is about the most you want to be safe (unless you are willing to do some modding and/or wheel well massaging).

i wouldnt go with anything other than 235/40/18s...thats what i run, and when making sharp turns sometimes my front tires rub. Besides, if you were to go bigger, it would be like a qurter of an inch or so, that much difference doesnt do anything.

You rub because your lowered right?

I jsut bought a set of 235/40s that will go on some ss/tc wheels. I can post pics later when I get them mounted. I'm stock height btw

ended up with 225/40

wider than stock, and a HELL of a lot cheaper than any other size combo.

thanks again everyone
