I'd love to go over to the island for a cruise. Its nice to get out of the traffic, I was over two weeks ago and it was nice and sunny. The ferry is pretty expensive though. Plus I wouldn't want my baby going down with the ship :eek:

Yesterday morning at 8:45am. I phoned the parts guy in North Van at 8:15am and told him the parts were out. He had just got in and had not even turned his computer on yet. He was really surprised that I already knew. He did have to do a manual order (phoned in) and he phoned me back and said it was ordered and confirmed with that one phone call. :cool:

Yup.. a manual Acura which sheds off a second from the automatic accleration. Manual is just more fun than automatic. Don't try it in stop and go traffic though.

Went to the auto show yesterday. One thing not good about some models with the Cobalt is there is no arm rest to rest your arm while manual shifting.

....One thing not good about some models with the Cobalt is there is no arm rest to rest your arm while manual shifting.
Many of us just bought the armrest and installed them. Easy to do.

I'm actually from Courtenay but work at both Tyee Chevrolet & Medium Duty Trucks in Campbell River as well as at Brian McLean Chevrolet in Courtenay. I commute up there a couple times a week so my car has lots of highway clicks on it.
FYI between the two dealerships we have delivered a red one to someone from Campbell River, a Black one to someone from the North Island (Sayward or Zeballos I think) and then another black one to a tech from CR, mine, and the other blue one. We had one of those Sunburst Orange ones on the lot but dealer traded that to Parksville or Nanaimo.
I know there's also a blue one in Port Alberni, at least one.
I just took the ferry the other day it was $35 for car-n-driver from Tswassen to Duke Pt. (nanaimo) but that's offseason rates. I'm into meeting wherever but just thought Long Beach would make a nice photo op. spot as well as a nice long windey drive. I'm sure Kits Beach would also be cool.

It is a bit stiffer. Speed bumps are now one sharp bump instead of two. I love the way it dropped it though. REALLY glad I got them!! The stiffer ride is well worth it. And it is more stable in the corners as well...even though it was ok with the stock springs. I can live with it on normal roads easily.

It is about an hour to hour and a half labour. So whatever deal you can get from a shop ;)

Got the springs from Modern Performance. About $320 or so CAD at the door.

450.00 h&r springs,drop and alienment at b.c. tires and automotive, they did my vibe and the alienment was better than when i drove it off the lot.

Thats not wierd at all but I was really surprised when I saw a couple of Asian guys driving a 72 Cuda all done up. I thought that guy discovered good ole muscle car power;)

We should do a sqwamish run with the cars, there is a great resturant at shannon falls with lots of parking and there is no construction on weekends?

I suggest we meet at the Brentwood Mall parking lot on Willingdon at the Zellers section (1 block north on Willingdon past Lougheed highway) This is central with out having to deal with downtown traffic for those coming a distance. (Just a suggestion)
A drive to Squamish would be fine but we need to confirm that traffic is not affected (by construction) on Sundays.
If we start a new thread perhaps call it " Vancouver area's first meet"

The Brentwood mall thing is a good idea. It is central and the mall is dying a slow death so parking won't be a problem.:lol:
