Brakes are Squealing
Does anyone else have this problem... Very discouraged on why my brembo brakes squeal. I took it to the dealer and the BS i got was this is normal for a high performance brake system... no?
You'll find it happens when they're cold, and especially while they're being broken in. 8,300km in and mine barely ever squeak anymore.
If you're finding the squeaking annoying, it's also sometimes due to brake dust build up. Go onto an empty road and brake authoritatively (don't STAND on them) from say 50mph-25mph... That tends to scrub the dust off and reduce squeaking.
But anyway, as said, high performance brakes. It comes with the territory. The dealer wasn't BSing, they were saving themselves a huge repair expense just to have you complain again about the same thing.

Be careful with some of the suggestions mentioned here. New high performance, more than standard, brakes need a short break in period to maximize their life and performance. A thousand miles of regular stop and go with NO and I emphasize NO panic stops should be sufficient. You will have the grinding noise for as long as you use the stock pads that came with the car. The grinding will happen after the car has been parked for a while. Like overnight. When you park the car the hot rotors condense the humid air and you get moisture between the rotor and pad. Don't forget the rotors are cast iron and rust with the slightest moisture. The hi po pads are high metallic content and the two parts actually rust together as they sit over night. When you take off in the morning you might even hear a clunk when the rotors break loose. Then you will hear a grinding noise as the brakes clean themselves off. Suggestion. Drag the brakes GENTLY for a 1/4 mile to clean them and you should be good to go. Now the SQUEELING (as opposed to grinding) I would be concerned about. But I don't know what you call grinding and squeeling.

Keep in mind that having new pads will also create more brake dust than something that's broken in. More dust = more squeal. Also cause your wheels to be a LOT nastier looking if you don't keep them clean and washed.
THis is a high pitched squeal just as i am about to come to a complete stop. it only happens or i only heard it when i am rolling to a complete stop. any suggestions or opinions?

I have 35,000 miles on my 2006 SS/SC and still have the noise. It only happens once in a while when parked in driveway overnight in the rain. When I release the E brake and back down the driveway( decline) it sounds like a truck. Very loud noise. Continues down the driveway until I start to drive. Should I go back to the dealer?
